John Papas opened his Greek restaurant in East Hampton over 20 years ago and it remains one of the most popular restaurants with locals. There’s a group of folks who sit down for coffee as soon as John Papas opens at 7am. The restaurant, known for its home style cooking, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served all day, but the menu also has Greek specialties such as moussaka, souvlaki and gyros. John Papas is a favorite spot for everyone from toddlers to celebrities with a friendly staff and lots of great choices.

Good ole John Papas Cafe.. I heard it’s an iconic breakfast/brunch/diner spot in town so I had to stop by and check it out. Place was jumping when I walked in which is always a good sign. I went with the Norwegian Smoked Salmon platter and loved it! This thing was massive and almost couldn’t finish. Definitely an item you can split with someone and feel plenty full afterward.

Average diner food. Greek gyro meat is not made on premises so did not order. Would have given a 3.5 for food as the pastrami sandwich and shrimp were tasty, but the onion rings and fries were greasy, and cold.
