It’s time and time and again!
They offered to remake it but my daughter is in labor and we’re getting her last meal before she goes in and no time
Didn’t offer to refund me the cost of the extra cheese we didn’t get this or any of the other 6 times we got crapped on over paying for extra cheese you WILL NOT GET
Order reg cheese maybe you’ll get a civilized amount
It’s not even HALF covered w reg cheese let alone EXTRA
Again & again
Good comfort Italian comfort food. The lit red sauce is really good and not sweet. The caprese fried eggplant was also good and different.
SERVICE
Server Stephanie was very friendly and attentive.
ATMOSPHERE
Large sort of typical restaurant but with large rooms and even a large separate bar area.
The food is fine. It’s basic diner food. Their are quite a few things on the menu that are actually pretty good if I’m being honest. You just need to know what they are. Their ultimate chicken salad is probably the best thing on their entire menu if I’m being honest, and nearly all of their sandwiches are fine/good.
They’re Pizza which is associated with their Longo’s subsidiary is actually reasonable. It’s more or less better than any of the fast food pizza chains but not much better than any of the other mom-and-pop pizza shops that are in the area.
Strangely enough a lot of their Italian food is what actually is extremely hit-and-miss with whether or not it’s either reasonably good all the way to being just plain bad at times.
Really a lot of the biggest reasons why so many people go to Joey’s is that it’s very well-maintained, and everything is usually very clean and orderly whenever you’re there. The decor and environment is very nice and a lot of people love going there on Sundays to watch the football games. Their indoor outdoor porch area is very nice and they usually have an awesome fire going whenever it starts getting cold out.
I’ll be honest — in the past Joey’s was a “sit at the bar or nothing” type of place for me. But wow… they are seriously stepping their game up lately, and tonight showed it.
First off, HUGE shoutout to the hostess who absolutely saved us. We had our baby with us and were about to be sat outside when she gave us the heads-up that the live band was starting in 5 minutes. She totally saved us from a meltdown moment. Not only that, but the band’s volume ended up being perfect — you could enjoy the music but still hold a conversation.
Food? Absolutely nailed it across the board. I grabbed the happy hour 4-piece tenders with fries ($9 steal!) and everything came out fresh and hot. Usually fries get overlooked, but nope — these were crisp, hot, and perfect. My wife ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta and every single bite tasted fresh — shrimp, noodles, sauce — all of it.
The service team also deserves a ton of credit. The runner who brought out our food noticed that what looked like an appetizer was actually my wife’s entrée and made sure we got it right away — little details like that go a long way. Our waitress, Brianna P, was on top of everything and made sure drinks and food hit the table fast and fresh.
Behind the bar, Avery is hands-down the most attentive bartender I’ve ever seen anywhere. She’s crazy fast, always looking out for everyone, and just crushes it every time. Andy was managing tonight but still jumped behind the bar to cover down and was awesome to talk with — super nice and receptive when I complimented the whole team.
All around, from Avery & Andy at the bar, Brianna P on service, and even the hostess at the door, Joey’s is running on all cylinders right now. They’re going in the right direction and I couldn’t be happier to see it. Good vibes all around. Keep it up, Joey’s!
The Bar had a live band playing so it was extremely loud in the restaurant dining area and the lounge.
We didn’t appreciate the menu in the dining area showing happy hour specials that are only available to the lounge and bar area and it didn’t state it on the menu at our table.
Our chicken was under cooked still had a lot of pink, I wouldn’t recommend this establishment.
The manager did however honor the first round of drinks since it wasn’t specified on the menu not being available in the dining area even though the happy hour specials were at the dining area tables. The manager also took off one of our chicken dinners. So I gave them a few stars for at least doing the right thing and I tipped our server well for all the issues we encountered.
