Ordered take out as I wasn’t feeling up to braving crowds on a Friday night. My order was ready and waiting for me. I ordered a full rack of baby back pork ribs with baked potato and a side order of chicken. The meal came with garlic bread too. I opened the take out box and there were 2 halves of a rack stacked on top of each other with a big potato wrapped in foil.
I attacked the half rack on top first and really enjoyed it. The meat was cooked well and easily fell of the bone. With a little of the BBQ sauce on the side every bite was great. Then I went to the bottom half and wasn’t as delighted. For whatever reason the 2nd half was very fatty and I had to work too hard to find meat. I don’t know if this meaty-fatty mix is a normal thing but it seemed to me to be a way for them to get rid of the lower quality product without completely disappointing clients.
The chicken was good too with some of the sauce to dip it in. I also really enjoyed the garlic bread.
The restaurant surprisingly was nearly empty and not as big as I thought it might have been. I can’t say much more about it than this as I didn’t stay to dine.
In conclusion I’d go back again, since the Upland location is close to my home, if was in the mood for some BBQ but I didn’t think it was anything earth moving. There wasn’t a big difference in my opinion from some of the other BBQ places in the area like Lucille’s and Famous Dave’s.
