I grew up in Brentwood and recently moved back to the area, and Joe’s has always been my go to Chinese carryout. I’ve been coming here for years and the food is always fresh, hot, and consistent. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the service is quick and friendly. Whether I’m in the mood for comfort food or just need a reliable takeout spot, Joe’s Carry Out never lets me down. Definitely a Brentwood, Mount Rainier & Hyattsville staple!

He over charged me on purpose and lied about it. I was charged $12 for 4 wings and fried rice on the menu the price was $9. Total rip off. I confronted him and he lied. I will not come back.

Has delicious Chinese food, their steak & cheese egg rolls are great! Some weird people hang around there though. I’d definitely call and order to be in and out of there. Don’t do the delivery, they take over an hour to get your food. Guy calls and tells you to get out of your house. Still expects a big tip, even though your food is cold and he won’t get out of his car.

I read the reviews before coming…as usual..I used to come to this restaurant when I was a teenager. I’m in my 30’s now….thought it would be pure nostalgia. But what I saw was HORRIFIC. I ordered shrimp egg foo Yung. It was the MOST disgusting food I’ve ever had in my life…but I was scared to even try it and let me tell you why… I don’t think I’ve ever said this about any business but a health inspector needs to be called out to this place. I ordered my food and after I ordered…i started looking into the kitchen while the guy was taking my order and I saw a huge bucket of already fried chicken. Yes…I said a bucket. The chicken was sitting in a bucket…not being tempered..not in a refrigerated…a BUCKET for God’s sake. That’s the fried chicken people continuously kept ordering because it’s SOOO cheap. I don’t know how long that chicken had been sitting there but I was there 30 minutes too long to see them re frying that chicken for the mass of people requesting it. I can’t be too mad as people walked up…saw that bucket..and still ordered chicken
But they weren’t ordering large amounts. 3 piece…that tells me…they did it out of starvation…fries were sitting in a fryer over top of the oil….uncooked…. I have a serv safe license and I know how to serve sage food and do inspections. This place would fail in so many areas. Please don’t eat here. I certainly won’t again. It’s not worth you getting sick or worse. There’s a super Japan right across the street. Please don’t eat here. My stomach is turning as I write this..
I never should have eaten any of their food after seeing everything behind them. Someone is going to get very sick here if they haven’t already.

Wow! Literally the only place in the area that sells fried rice that isn’t Spanish yellow rice. I like yellow rice but NOT with my Chinese food. Every dish that I have had on the menu is good. The delivery is always on time and it comes with good serving sizes.

Order is NEVER correct! They mess up my food every time. Ask for extra mayo, get no mayo at all. Ask for white sauce, you get brown sauce. Dont pay attention, follow no instruction & still charge an extra .50 to use debit card in 2021…because they can. STAY AWAY

Good variety of dishes and willing to make accommodations to food orders. Such as subbing steamed rice for fried rice or adding extra onions and bean sprout. They also will use less sauce or more if asked. It’s the little things. The family who owns it is also really nice.
