My daughter ordered pizza and calzones today thru the app called, ” Slice”. Talk about messing up an order. My daughter order a large pie with extra cheese. A sausage and cheese calzone, a bacon and pepperoni calzone and a 2 liter of Pepsi. What we got was large pie with hardly any cheese, calzones that were made where the sausage was not spread through the calzone instead piled in one spot, mozzarella was hardly melted inside and a 1.25 pt of Pepsi. The other calzone which was supposed to be made with pepperoni and bacon had hardly any. Disappointing would be an understatement considering years ago I had grown to love the pizza here and would take my lunch break and come and get a slice. The truth be told is my daughter only ordered from here as a last resort because it’s a holiday and most places closed early or weren’t open. Never ever again.

Been getting pizza from here for as long as I can remember. The people running the restaurant are friendly and know how to have fun. Prices are good and pizza is fresh. I’ve only recently started trying their pasta but it’s also good, although their pizza is the best thing they make.

Prices are good too, considering how big the pizzas are.

They don’t deliver, but making an order and waiting the 30 minutes or so it takes to make it is ABSOLUTELY worth it.

Ever since the old owners sold this place it has changed. My family and I have been going here since 1998. When we heard they sold we were sad but John (one of the previous owners) said not to worry the new owners wouldn’t change a thing. And well that was a lie. The garlic nuts which were my favorite and no other on the island compared are no longer the same. They are visibly different and taste different as well. The pizza doesn’t taste the same either. And 95% of the original old staff is no longer there. Honestly just wish I could have one last bite of the old original recipes

Place is awesome. Since new ownership not only has the food gotten better but the service has significantly improved. Super nice waitress and the mew dining room looks so much better. The pizza counter also has a lot more options which is really nice. Overall a really good place.

Update (12/21):
The restaurant was sold about 1 year ago.

The new owners should definitely update the Google Maps restaurant details.

Stop pretending this is still the original Joe’s opened in 1973.

The magic is gone. Pizza and pasta just aren’t good anymore.

Family run since 1973 says it all. Great folks and amazing, authentic Italian food. The NY style pizza is excellent. The Brooklyn style pizza is better than Brooklyn joints. The pasta is excellent. And, the coffee cake (not coffee cake…actually coffee-infused layer cake) is beyond amazing.

Pizza is great and staff is even better. Went in here for the first time and the place was super clean and everyone was so friendly. I even shared a piece of pizza with one of the cooks 😉 While waiting for my food the guys kept me laughing and smiling. This place has such a warm friendly family vibe id go back just for that alone, and it helps the food was great 🙂

First time my wife and I had dinner at this local, family friendly, restaurant. . Although we’ve had great take out pizza, before. We had a mixed plate of sausage, meatball, ravioli, and manicotti. The last time I had Italian was in Little Italy. Joe’s is right up there. His restaurant could be in Little Italy too. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This used to be my favorite Italian place! BUT after it’s gotten new owners it’s gone completely down hill. It’s actually so gross, low grade Italian food. Jarred sauce tastes better than whatever they are using. Besides changing the entire taste of food, they redid the whole inside and it looks trash as well. If they are gonna change everything might as well change the name because you are doing the previous owner and his entire family a disservice. Do not eat here and save your money!! I would rate 0 starts but it won’t allow you.
