Once we got past a rocky start, our experience at Joe’s was great! There was a little conflict over the use of a gift certificate but once I spoke with Joe, we got things worked out. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The stromboli was delicious and a perfect portion for lunch. The marinara sauce was very good. The salads were a bit overdressed, but had good flavor. The spicy crab soup was very good. My children enjoyed their meals very much and we appreciated being able to get non-children’s menu items for our kids at reasonable prices. Joe came out and chatted with us and apologized for the initial conflict and we appreciated that very much. We will definitely visit there again and may try his fine dining establishment next door on our next date night without the kids. Yes, Joe has a typical New York/Italian persona, but once you get past that, he seems like a nice man who is a bit stressed out about running two restaurants. Other complaints about the decor or service don’t really make sense. This is a deli with an ordering counter and self-service. The decor and service fit the profile.
If I had one complaint, it would be the decor in the bathrooms. I’m not keen on my daughters, ages 3 to 10, staring at Michelangelo’s David whilst going potty and they don’t really understand why the bathroom is decoupaged in “sexy” men all over the walls.

The food was alright, but not worth the trouble, I know they were busy at the time, but all our groups food came at about 10 to 15 min intervals, and when Joe came to speak to us, he was very short and rude, claiming that over 100 people came to his “other” restaurant next door. If he can’t handle being busy, than he shouldn’t own a business. Honestly the only things that keep this place alive are advertisements, local regulars and most of all, tourists who don’t know much about the excellent dining choices in the area.

Eaten here a few times. Food is good and price a little high. Was asked to give my table up one time as soon as I was done by the owner. I didn’t even have time to finish my water before they were clearing my table.

Very rich menu items and the best Cheesecake in town. It’s costs a little more than the average Italian restaurant, especially for the atmosphere, but the food makes it worth it.
