Amazing start to our trip! You can taste the love and flavor in their food. Got the Ube French toast and Special Loco Moco. We are on a mission to find the best loco moco on the island and this one holds first! Service was so welcoming and attentive. Also got our first tase of Poke. Thank you for sharing who you are with us! We’ll never forget you all, Wahgwan from Indianapolis, IN!

If you’re looking for a true local plate lunch spot that never disappoints, Joe’s Grill Express is it.

I’ve been coming here consistently since 2022, and I can honestly say they serve the best chicken katsu plate in the state. Not just good, not just better than average, but consistently excellent every single time. The katsu is perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and cooked exactly the way it should be. The portions are generous, the flavors are on point, and the plate always feels like real value, especially these days.

What really sets Joe’s Grill Express apart is how competitive their prices are without ever cutting corners. You actually feel good walking away with a full plate that fills you up and doesn’t empty your wallet. That’s getting harder and harder to find, and they’ve managed to hold onto that balance of quality and affordability.

The people here are just as good as the food. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of their customers. You can tell this is a place run with pride, and that care shows in everything from the service to the consistency of the meals. Whether you’re a regular or it’s your first visit, you’re treated like you belong there.

Located right off Nimitz Highway, it’s easy to swing by, but once you try it, it’ll turn into one of those spots you go out of your way for. This is the kind of local business you want to support because they’re doing everything right.

I absolutely love this place and will keep coming back as long as they’re open. If you’re craving a legit plate lunch and want chicken katsu done the right way, Joe’s Grill Express is a must try!!!

Small place, but big on flavor – spinach omelette was great and Joe’s Moco was excellent. Prices are very reasonable.

Today I stopped by to try out their late breakfast and I ordered 2 eggs and spam and rice plate and “WOW” they gave a good quantity. Normally other places give 2 slices of spam but I got 4 good slices of spam and 2 big over easy eggs and good amount of rice that got me full once I finished and it only cost me $9.95 with tax included. The service was great also, so friendly and helpful.

I don’t know what to say except I’m so confused why so many 5 stars. The food was terrible. I guess people don’t like salt, pepper, and flavor? I know a lot of people like bland food and not strong flavors.. this is that type of food if that’s what you like.

Just landed HNL and it’s lunch time. 5 minutes from the airport for some Hawaiian plate and authentic Filipino dish. 4 tables available to dine in. Ordered Filipino dishes and loved it.

Truly excellent food at this small hidden hideaway spot, lots of options from breakfast to lunch, from local food to regular American cuisine to Mexican food.

The staff was unairingly polite, they do have a bathroom at the back in the kitchen, just ask. They also give you a free water cup and ice.

The prices have recently gone up but they are still quite a bargain. The vibes here are amazing.

As a plus it’s extremely close to where you leave the airport. Stop by! It’s worth the stop and there is plenty of parking in the small shopping center
