Marco’s Italian Restaurant
Today for lunch we headed to Joe Pizza. We started out with the Italian Meatballs. The meatballs were definitely made in house. The sauce was very fresh. it’s served with a single slice of garlic bread and topped with ricotta, which is a really nice touch. I also ordered a coconut milkshake which was absolutely delicious. As always, we ordered a pepperoni pizza. The pizza came out very quickly and immediately we were impressed with the airy crust. They use the smaller pepperonis a Joe pizza which is a nice change of pace.My only issue with this pizza is that there was almost too much pepperoni on it. The ronis were on top of each other, sometimes 3 or 4 of them. That might be a personal preference though, I’m sure there are tons of people who love the endless amount of pepperoni on this pie. The server was also very polite and helpful. He had a couple of tables and did a great job of giving all of them the appropriate attention.

Very disappointed with them lately. When I order takeout, our pizza has been wrong every time lately (they use to be so great!) I am assuming new cooks…?
My last incident with them, I took my son to have lunch. We ordered our food with Joanne G (server). Our food came, she placed it on the table and THEN notified me that they only had sweet potato fries. I asked if they had anything else, she said only celery or cucumbers. That’s not a valid substitute. Usually I’m not picky, but for $10-$13 per meal and you can only enjoy half your meal, that isn’t fair. Also not having any juice for kids, only soda also was a throw off. They need to be upfront with people and let them know before they order if they are out of stock of something. What if someone had an allergy? What if someone wasn’t able to eat them? What if! I didn’t make a huge stink about it at the time, but they have seriously gone very downhill in the past few months. I did send them an email to speak with someone, but they never responded and it’s been almost a month.

Joe Pizza was my favorite restaurant while I was living in Simsbury with my husband. We recently visited Joe Pizza again, this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

The staff here are super friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. I am never disappointed when I stop by Joe Pizza for either a quick lunch or a romantic dinner. Their food is authentic and fantastic, the perfect kind of comfort food.

The portion sizes here are rather big, so make sure you come hungry! Whatever leftovers you have will make for a delicious lunch the next day.

I no longer live in Connecticut, but I will continue to stop by Joe Pizza whenever I do end up in town. It’s definitely worth the trip up for me.

Got joes pizza tonight and was VERY disappointed. They forgot our eggplant fries (we only ordered three things). My chicken piccata: not breaded, dripping with oil, and no lemon at all. For $20 I expected the chicken to be edible… there was also no Customer service when we came in to pick up, everyone kept walking by and no one acknowledged us. I would give zero stars but it wouldn’t let me, will never be returning

Pizza, mozzarella sticks & milkshakes were spotted on! Meatball Broccoli toppings were right size & amount over the thin oven baked pizza. They minded for my allergies carefully & the service was excellent

If I could give zero stars, I would. Not sure what is going on there, but if the owner doesn’t step up really soon, this place will be closed. Years ago, it was such a great place to go – food delicious, atmosphere outside (esp with heated fire lamps) was awesome. Over the past year, food is “eh” at best. The worst was $78 of a recent take-out. Spinach on pizza was old and rotted. Eggplant fries totally dry, burnt, and barely any of them. I brought the food right back and after waiting 20+ minutes at the front counter (and totally ignored even though the place was empty), I discussed with waitress who was going to speak to the Manager/Owner. She was supposed to credit me back and call me. No phone call and no credit back.
Save your money and go to a place where the owner and staff take pride in their restaurant and you get your monies worth.

We’ve been going to Joe Pizza for a long time. Recently, our last 3 visits, it hasn’t been as good. The last pizza we ordered, the dough was barely baked. Being a cook/baker, I’m thinking it sat in the fridge a bit too long before being used. When the waiter asked how our pizza was I commented on the dough and his response was, I’m sorry, and walked away. The salads have been great but again, the last one I had I sent back. Perhaps I’m just too picky. We did get a gift card when I mentioned the poor quality of the food but, unfortunately, it wasn’t much better when we used the gift card. Many locals love it, it’s just not high on our list. One thing that is always good? Their milkshakes. Old-fashioned and delicious. Our grandchildren call it the milkshake restaurant.

The best food around, up and down the menu! We always buy extra (delivery) for lunches, too. Huge, outstanding Greek & Caesar salads and great thin-crust pizzas that are delicious and fill you up without feeling all bloated. Philly cheese steaks are excellent and not only is their calamari outstanding, you’d be surprised how good it “travels” to the house. Still warm and crispy on arrival with lemon slices and killer marinara. Specialty pizzas are fun to try and delicious, but they also do basics so well. Great sausage, for example. Never, ever had a bad meal there.
