Celebrating my birthday at Joe Muer was an experience I’ll never forget. The atmosphere alone made the night special, but the live piano on the weekend truly brought the moment to life. The pianist wished me happy birthday multiple times, and it made me feel so seen and appreciated.

We ordered calamari, oysters, sushi, a Delmonico steak, the branzino, and the seafood tower. They filleted the branzino table side, which added such an elegant touch to the evening. The seafood tower was extraordinary, and the king crab was unbelievably sweet and fresh ..easily the best I have ever had. I would return for the seafood tower alone.

Everything we tasted was perfectly prepared, and the service was warm, attentive, and polished. I walked out feeling incredibly grateful. Joe Muer was the perfect choice for my birthday and set a new standard for special-occasion dining.

The food was great. Due to the size of our party some of the steaks were over cooked. The restaurant immediately resolved the issue and the steaks turned out amazing. The lobster bisque was delicious. The views were lovely. The staff was so pleasant and very professional. Would highly recommend.

I have made a lot of reviews about a lot of restaurants. I’m not much of a seafood eater, but this had to be one of the best restaurants I have ever been to In My Life. The food was so good it made me change things that I didn’t even eat into things that I love. My wife said that her crab imperial what’s the best crab she has ever had in her life. And if you follow me at all you know we have been to a lot of restaurants. I don’t eat fish, but I have a new favorite fish. I don’t like spinach, but I had a dish composed so well I had to eat it. I wish it was possible to give 10 stars. The restaurant, the atmosphere, the view, everything about this restaurant was more phenomenal than any place we have ever been. I cannot stress enough I am not a seafood lover. And I love this place period for the first time ever I used a fork and a knife to cut shrimp. I was using their bread to soak up the seasoning from the appetizer. If you like seafood you will be absolutely over the moon when it comes to this restaurant.

Our dining experience was enjoyable, but fell short of expectations. The server, Mark, excelled in explaining the menu and offering suggestions. The Oysters Rockefeller and Seared Sea Scallops appetizers were delicious, with the scallops boasting exceptional flavor and a delectable sauce. However, the Oysters Rockefeller lacked flavor and were overly filled with spinach, missing a touch of salt. The bread, bean, and vinegar accompaniment, as well as the butter, were unimpressive and lacked flavor. In contrast, the table-side filleted Whole Roasted Mediterranean Branzino with lemon butter sauce was outstanding. The second dish, initially intended to be the Florida Red Grouper, was substituted with a local fish due to availability, which, although edible, lacked flavor. The saffron rice pilaf was overcooked, and the black truffle mac and cheese failed to impress, lacking creaminess and flavor. While the dessert cart offered an array of options, we opted not to order. Overall, this restaurant seems overhyped and pricey, given our experience.

Was here last night with a small appetite. The lobster bisq had me wanting t9 sick the bowl, the Oyster Rockefeller was perfectly cooked. Well worth it. Only issue I have is adding a gratuity with the bill. I am not a fan of restaurant who do this, I always leave a tip but to force someone to tip is not professional. I usually leave 25 to 30 percent. Joe, you just short changed your wait staff with your mandatory tip added to my bill.

Visiting from North Carolina!! A beautiful night celebrating my mom’s 81st birthday at Joe Muer
The food was delicious, the river view was stunning, and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more perfect. Mom was in awe, and everything turned out exactly how I hoped full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Joe Muer was absolutely amazing! Our reservation was honored immediately, the hostess was friendly and welcoming. Our server was very attentive and prompt. Bartenders make very good, strong drinks. Finally the food is phenomenal! We had oysters, hand rolled shrimp tempura, salmon, calimari, and fish tacos. Everything was delicious the sauce for the calamari was some of the best I’ve ever had. And I most certainly recommend the lavender75. They also validate parking with amazing views to Canada, we will most certainly be back! Often!

Started out disappointing since I wanted to sit outside on the patio overlooking the Detroit River only to be told it was closed. So, being only myself, I sat at the bar as close to the windows as I could. The bartender was courteous but cold. Not super warm or welcoming but he did his job efficiently. I ordered the Muers Prime Burger. A 28 day aged prime beef burger served on a toasted cibatta bread bun and I surprisingly chose cheddar over american. Of course, I asked for medium rare and was given a perfectly cooked med-rare burger. The truffle fries were amazing! Generously seasoned with an added sprinkle of parmesean. The burger was pretty amazing… probably my second favorite ever. Being Joe Muers, I’m confident the seafood is just as top notch. Go! But call first if you’re looking to get seated on the patio.

This place was luckily accepting walk in’s in a Sunday. Guess everyone still out celebrating the victory. I wasn’t expecting that crab cake to be memorable. The Bisque was very good, as well as the entire Berkshire Chop. The cooked down beet leaves were delicious and nutritious. Staff also makes this place. They were all friendly, knowledgeable and fast.

If you’re ever in Detroit and want to dine at an upscale restaurant, with great food and even better service. I definitely recommend Joe Muer Seafood inside the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit. Dinning here feels like you’re the star in a major motion picture. Ask for Ross, he’s one of the best servers in the business.
