We’ve been here about 3 or so times over the years. I have mixed feelings and won’t return. People rave about the fish and chips but they come with freezer fries and won’t even give you a bit of coleslaw without an extra $95, which is pretty much a fish and chips standard. $215 Cesar salad has been worth it in the past as I love traditional but this time it was very dry and had 3 tiny croutons. There is an appetizer called Sidil Pa’ck, a Mayan pumpkin seed dip, which is so good I may come back for only that. also, the devilled eggs are expensive but pretty good. Two apps, fish and freezer chips, small dry Caesar salad, one beer and one glass of wine was $1000MXN before top. Definitely a tourist trap. Nice views from up stairs and service is nice.

We visited JoeJacks on a Wed night. Maybe our expectations were too high? We sat on the roof terrace. Atmosphere was “ok”. Much older crowd and quite “touristy “. Service was attentive and kind. Food was just “ok”. On our way out we noticed a nice bar wirh patrons dining. Maybe dining there would have enhanced our visit. While no major issues, not a top place to dine in PV.

We came by on a Sunday night at 9:30pm. We were seated right away. We had the option of sitting downstairs or upstairs which we opted for. Every staff there was very nice and welcoming. It had a great vibe. Love the hanging pothos from the ceiling. Each table got complimentary cucumber slices with lime, radish and jicama which was nice.
We ordered a hibiscus drink, a passion fruit drink, their famous seafood chowder which the staff brought out in 2 bowls. Very appreciated. A shrimp and octopus cocktail and Baja fish tacos. Everything was delish. Credit cards accepted.

My all time favorite restaurant in Zona Romantica area, this is a very nice seafood restaurant in town, that has a very nice foods and very good drinks. I do recommend Mexican chicken BBQ, grilled fish and burger here is the best!! Service is amazing staffs is very nice and friendly. I do recommend for reservations for your table on high season weekend.

Had the Red Snapper platter and portion was enough to share between 2-3 people. The roasted garlic sauce was so delicious and the accompanying rice and beans were great. Appreciated having the lime to squeeze onto the fish, it lifted the richness of the fish. Only critique here is the fish being slightly overcooked.

Fantastic and I’m sad I tried it on my last day here! I sat at the bar for lunch. Pleasantly greeted by the bartender. The bartender mentioned that they had fresh tuna this morning so he recommended the tuna tostadas. The balance of the dish was amazing and it holds the highest bar where I’ll be comparing it to other tuna dishes. If you like a balance between a crunch, salty, sweet, fatty and umami flavor, you would love it.

I know I know this place is in the middle of the tourist zone, and it’s so cute that you might think the food’s not going to be good.
But the food is actually amazing!! I love their fish tacos, grilled. A solid piece of fish on each of the 3 tacos, and it comes with shredded cabbage, avocado sauce, and another red mole type sauce that’s so good.
Their hibiscus iced fresca is also wonderful.
And service is great.

I’m gonna stick my neck out here. When I travel, I avoid places that look like this. Now the restaurant itself is beautiful. I absolutely love the open kitchen. I love the tile. The design of the logo on the sign is not for me. Anyway, let me explain. I bring cash, I eat where the locals eat. I spend very little money, I leave happy. Due to a banking mishap/poor planning I am stuck using my credit card for this visit in Puerto Vallarta. I don’t have a single peso. Up until now, I thought this was going to be a disaster.
The food here was absolutely delicious. I had the shrimp and avocado tostada, the Dorado with rice and beans, and for dessert, the strawberry parfait. I loved all three dishes. With a 20% tip, the bill came to around $40. I live in New York City. That’s what it would cost to get a sandwich in a bag of chips. If I’m stuck ordering food at home, I am doing it through clenched teeth. I was happy to spend that $40 here for this delicious meal.
I wish I remembered the waiter name, but that Joe name tag on the uniform throws my memory off. He was great. He was never too far if I needed him and he did not linger. I showed up to this place in gym shorts and a sweaty T-shirt and got no second glances from anyone. I was treated with the utmost respect.
OK, so what did I learn? Give these gringo places a try. They can surprise you. The idea that something commercial has to be dumbed down for the masses is not the case here.

Omg this place is so delicious! The shrimp and avocado tostadas Louie is so good. Shrimp is fresh tossed in a sauce with avocado onions perfection! The wedge salad perfection! And for my entree I ordered the red snapper. Everything our table ordered was soooo flavorful and yummy. My friends ordered the fried chicken and five pepper steak! Again so good!
