On my weekdays off, you can usually find me here for lunch. Burgers and beer cheese dip are a must. There’s a rotating menu for craft beer and the basics like Coors and Bud on tap. They have bottled and canned drinks as well. The buns for the burgers are oh-so-soft. The fries or chips are freshly cut and fried. I personally don’t care for the chips (I’ve ordered them a couple separate occasions) because they aren’t as fried as I’d like. I’m impartial to the Humpty Dumpty burger with peanut butter. I haven’t had the chicken sandwiches but I’ve heard and seen on the menu that they switched from a chicken breast to ground chicken patties. I can see the economic reasoning for it, but I believe it’s not well-recieved. The employees are top-notch, especially Eric! You can also bring home crowlers for your favorite beer on tap (or 1919 root beer that’s also on tap). There is very limited seating, only 3 booths with more seating at the bar and outside on the patio/sidewalk in nice weather. This is a 21+ establishment, but don’t get a burger to take home for the kids because they’ll never want fast food burgers again!

I came here around the 1:00 hour (possibly closer to 2). The Regular John happened to be there. My husband and I were served by the most delightful young lady, her name was Kristen, I made sure to check who was so kindly serving me. the food was fast, nobody treated me poorly even with my quirky personality. I’m so happy I enjoyed this place then and there, because I didn’t even realize how badly I needed that positive environment and that delicious food. Well done, afternoon staff, well done!

A nice place for a quick lunch. Food is good and the service is friendly. It’s a small bar atmosphere with only two or three booths and maybe a dozen stools at the bar inside. It’s too bad they don’t have more room. They do have seating outside weather permitting. I would go back again.

I like the one downtown Fargo location the most, I asked for dill seasoning on my fries but didn’t get it. It’s ok it still liked the fries, it was my son’s 21st birthday he had never been there before. waitress friendly but Sad they don’t do anything for birthday specials or she didn’t tell us if their was any.

First time eating at a JL Beers. The Cajun-style burger was great: tasty bun, good sauce, nice flavor. Rookie mistake ordering the fries (oversalted) rather than the chips. Overall, I’d eat there again. Not sure I would make it a priority, but if you need a good burger and perhaps a drink I don’t think you’d regret it.

Classic JL. Allowed me to switch the chicken for a beef patty, got JLapeno burger, chips with jalapeño cheese dust, and ranch. Hot, filling, and perfect. Server was friendly and area was clean.

It seemed like every restraunt in town was closed. (Sunday) we happened by JL Beers, and they were open. You can’t get a bad hamburger here. So many choices, it’s hard to decide which one to have. I’m not boring, but I like my burgers nto all dolled up. I had the classic, and my wife had the Cajun. As always, one of us had the chips, and the other had the fries. We love them both, so we share.
