Finally tried Thai Cuisine in Mount Dora and I’m kicking myself for waiting this long! Hidden gem, seriously.
We went on a Tuesday evening at the beginning of December perfect mild weather, sat outside on the patio and it was lovely. The moment we sat down the place started filling up fast, even for a weeknight. Good sign!
The pineapple fried rice is an absolute showstopper. Served in a big fresh pineapple half, fragrant, slightly sweet, loaded with chicken, shrimp, cashews, and raisins. Every bite was perfect.
Pad Thai was spot-on: that classic gooey texture, super saucy but the flavors are subtle and balanced; nothing overpowers anything else. Huge portion too, easily shareable.
Saved room for the mango sticky rice and wow… warm sweet sticky rice, ripe mango, drizzled with coconut milk. Pure happiness on a plate.
Everything tasted fresh, portions are generous, and the prices are honestly a steal for this quality. Service was friendly and quick.
We’ve been to Mount Dora a million times but never here, total miss on our part. Already planning our next visit. If you love Thai food, this spot is a MUST!

I’ve always been seated within moments of walking in and treated well by the staff. My wife and I have enjoyed all our meals as they have phenomenal presentation and taste to match. Regardless of how busy the restaurant is, I’ve always gotten my order quickly.
I enjoyed the waterfall beef salad I had and my wife was a fan of the red curry. We also split a chicken satay appetizer, which has delicious peanut sauce! All of the dishes had great portion sizing and a wonderful blend of ingredients. I never felt like I was eating just greens or proteins.
The seating and restaurant have always been clean and the atmosphere is nice. They do offer outdoor seating, which is lovely when the weather isn’t too hot.
Overall I can’t recommend this place enough!

This place is located in the beautiful city of Mt. Dora. It’s a nice restaurant with a nice outdoor seating area. Although we frequent Mt Dora, this was our first time here and wished we had come sooner. The menu is great with many delicious options. The curries are excellent, I asked for super Thai spicy red curry and it was absolutely delicious!!!! We ordered several things off the menu and they were all great. The service was awesome, the server was friendly, helpful and quick to serve. I recommend trying this place and don’t think you will be disappointed.

This was a perfect lunch spot after our appointment in Mount Dora.
My husband and I both enjoy a good curry.
He had the yellow curry with chicken and I chose the green curry with chicken. His yellow curry was coconut smooth, flavorful, and filling, my green curry was nice and spicy, and the food was served very hot so we could take our time eating slowly and the food stayed warm throughout the meal.
Our waitress was very pleasant and very timely in all aspects of service.
The facility may be older, however I felt it was very clean and kept up, which made me relax and enjoy my food feeling that it was prepared in a hygienic and healthy environment.

JK THIA & Sushi is another local favs. They open for lunch and close from about 2-4 for dinner! I haven’t had anything there that I didn’t live! Everything has its own delicious flavor. The service is always great!

My husband, as someone who has visited Thailand, said “food was delicious and authentic.” Our waitress was sweet and attentive. Did not get a picture before we started digging into the mango sticky rice as we were so excited. Definitely will be back! Highly recommend!

We’ve been trying to eat at this place for years! Visiting Mt. Dora for at least 5 years, each time we have gone this restaurant has been closed or we weren’t going to eat. Finally the day came this past weekend where it was open and we were hungry!
The entire restaurant and bathrooms were spotless! The service was good and the food was all fresh and tasty. We ordered the crab Rangoon for an appetizer, and it was really good! For entrees, we ordered the Pad See Ew with beef, the Spicy Salmon rolls, and cashews with beef and vegetables. All the food was excellent. The spicy Salmon was very spicy so beware of that sauce on top. The beef was tender and flavorful.
Overall, we had a wonderful first experience at JK Thai Garden and Sushi, so we will definitely be returning to try more menu items! There is ample seating with a cute outside area to eat as well. It’s a very nice place!

Everything we had here was delicious. The service wasn’t the best we had a young lady that served us and she didn’t know the menu well but we ordered by looking at reviews. The waterfall beef was very good and the duck pho had amazing broth.

JK is a fantastic thai restaurant right in the heart of Mount Dora. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. We had the red curry with chicken and enjoyed it very much. It was a bit thinner than many curries we’ve had, but packed with flavor. The Pad Ke Mao with beef had lots of vegetables and the beef was very high quality. If you’re looking for great Thai food, I highly recommend this place. They also have a patio for outdoor seating.
