Customer service is amazing. The food on the other hand is disappointing the fact that they even compare it to Chicago style food is crazy. The Italian beef tastes like the meat is old and the juice that the meat is in not good it at all. I am very disappointed they definitely don’t need to compare the food to Chicago food. The hot dogs where good but the relish was nasty. Definitely not worth the price unfortunately but the staff is amazing.

First time to try JJ’s Dog House specifically to try the Olive Dog! The olive sauce is now my favorite. Fantastic! We will frequent often.
We tried Olive Dog, Chili Dog and Slaw Dog. We also sampled the Italian Beef. All were so good!

I was amazed at the customer service acumen of the staff. I was uncertain of eating the mild slider combo but he took one slider and cut it in half for me to tey in order to be confident in my choice. It was a little sloppy so if wearing nice clothes may want a dog instead. The shop is small but does have one counter with a few chairs and there are some tables curbside. Price point was good when compared to places like mcdonalds etc. Worth a try for sure.

First off, I’m from Chicago area originally so I know what I’m talking about….my first time here but for presentation on the Chicago dog they did great but tasted nothing like one….hot dog buns were stiff, they need to be steamed….and those weren’t Vienna hot dog…would I go again? Eh probably not for $6 a dog

I was walking to R. E. Olds Transportation Museum and exploring downtown Lansing and stopped in here for a quick lunch. A great place to enjoy a coney dog and I highly recommend the olive dog.

Finally some good chili dogs. A vienna beef coney like this with some really good chili for $5 each? That’s a damn good price. Good snap to the dog, strong flavor on the chili. The italian beef sandwiches also went nuts. Also worth noting that good food safety, everything kept properly labeled and lidded as necessary, clean utensils. This’ll be a regular spot for sure any time I’m nearby.

Popped over to Starbucks by bobcat Bonnie’s for a coffee and my companion was drawn in by the hot dog on the window. We stopped up to see what was going on and met Stache. He owns JJ‘s doghouse and was very pleasant and nice. He even let us sample one of the sliders which was amazing. Looking forward to stopping up here this week for lunch. Come check it out!

Ive patronize this business for a couple years off and on. I was always under the impression it was owned and operated by an older gentleman who typically works behind the counter apparently that’s not the case. See a couple months earlier a motorist on an electric bike almost ran me over as I was crossing the road to go to Meijer. No apology no concern for the fact that if he was just a bit closer he could of put me in a wheelchair or worse. I did call the individual and bad name that begins with A and ends with the letter E as it was a pretty scary experience to say the least. He walks up to me in the check out line at meijers and whispers the word I used in my ear to try to instigate further so I said damn right thats what I said you could of hurt me in an irritated tone of voice then continued paying for my goods and left. Fast forward to today a couple months later. I walk into jj dogs and im about to order a chilli dog combo not even noticing the man in front of me in line until he turns around and tells me im no longer welcome there. At first I didnt even recognize him until he repeated The expletive I used when he almost ran me over in the road. Then it all came back pretty quick. He told me im basically unwelcome at the establishment now because I dare speak up when I was almost ran over with a heavy eBike which can be deadly. My point being If he is that willing to carry a vendetta as a merchant when he was unwilling to consider my safety as a human being then how well might he care for your food if the decides he doesnt care much for you for what ever reason. And if the proprietor of a local business is nearly running people over in the street without so much as a an apology or acknowledgement of a mistake on their part is that someone you really want to hand your hard earned money to. Perhhaps this review will render more conscientious behavior in the future.
