One of the best thai restaurants I’ve been to! Everything was delicious. We got the chicken sate and veg spring rolls to start. Pad kra paw and drunken noodles were soooo good. The best was the green curry. So comforting! Their iced Thai tea and coffee were really good but the coconut juice was okay. Could have been a little less sweet. Good meal regardless!

STAY AWAY!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! My family and I were a party of four and all of us ended our dining experience being very agitated. Why? We could not figure out what we going to do for our next dining experience after having absolutely the best Thai food ever! Where would we go that could match this place? If we continue to come back we will go broke.

I have never eaten with a group where everyone loved every single item that was ordered, from the appetizers, to the main course and finally dessert. There was not one item that was disliked. The lamb, the duck, the salmon and the chicken were so flavorful that you could taste it when you put it in your mouth before you actually took a bite! The sticky rice was fantastic! The flavor of the food was enhanced by the various sauces that came with each dish.

To top it off, all of the drinks (non-acoholic) were delicious and offered a very smart after taste. The desserts were just too good! I would like to write a much longer review but just do not have the words to describe how wonderfully amazing all of the food was. If you decide to come here and dine, I guarantee you that you will be hooked and have a serious urge to return to the restaurant at least once every month. So beware, you have been warned.

JJ serves up some delicious Thai classics and French fusion in a warm, almost romantically lit small space.

We started off with the Tom Kha Gai which was absolutely unbelievable. A rich, creamy, yet remarkably vibrant flavor came through this coconut based soup and I would say it’s a must-get item on the menu! Especially in the cold winter, it warmed us up and tasted so good.

For our entrees, I got the “chef’s special” crispy duck in tamarind sauce, served over crispy sweet potato. The duck was impressively crispy and the strong tangy tamarind glaze worked beautifully with it. On the other hand, I did not enjoy the sweet potato that it was served over. It was almost like thin sweet potato patties that were battered and fried, and having two fried foods on top of each other like that was a little much. Also, the sweetness of the potato was too much with the sweet/tang of the tamarind. It wasn’t bad, but did detract from the excellent duck. And then the three raw slices of kiwi on top was visually interesting, but also did not pair well with the flavors of the dish so it was kind of funny.

Our other entree was the chicken pad see ew. The charred flavor on the grilled chicken was great and the dish was nice, but we wished there had been a bit more flavor from the sauce- it was somewhat dry and could have benefitted from more sauce. Tasty overall, but didn’t differentiate much from other Thai places.

The servers themselves were outstanding, friendly and helpful. However, the restaurant was very packed and busy and there seemed to be only three people seating, serving and bussing. So we did have to wait for a while to get our check since they were occupied trying to keep up with all the customers.

Overall I definitely recommend JJ! Mostly for the Thai food side of things. Although I didn’t personally have any of the more standard French classics on the menu, they seemed pretty “old school” and catered to more of the senior clientele that the restaurant attracts. Not a bad thing by any means, just something to be aware of.

This was my first time ordering takeout from here, and last time I ate here was almost 10 years ago. I ordered the lunch special pad thai with veggies and tofu with soup of the day. The soup (I think butternut squash?) and pad thai are DELICIOUS and I’m writing this review as I eat them. Not sure why I waited so long to come back to this restaurant again, but I definitely will not wait another 10 years until the next time! Both hot, seasoned nicely, and the pad thai at a medium spicy is exactly what I was looking for on this cold day, and the value for the price of the lunch special is fantastic.

I come here for date nights and love the food! It has a nice ambiance to chat, but I just ordered catering for a lecture I was hosting at school and the owner, Tom was great! I was able to get the food for 40 people delivered which made it so much easier. It came with everything I needed including cards for the trays. I got some many compliments and the food was warm! Unfortunately the elevator in our building was broken today, and Tom even helped carried the food downstairs. I couldn’t be happier with everything! Thank you so much!

Philly’s best kept secret! Our favorite Thai place in the city! The food is delicious and they always have seasonal specials, like the soft shell crab, that are amazing. They have a lot of unique dishes making it always so hard to choose! The massaman short rib is one of our go-to. The staff are kind and thoughtful and take the time to get to know their locals. Mimi is the best!

Today was my first time here and I decided to take some pictures and leave a review. I got the shrimp and crab spring rolls and I enjoyed them. I also order the mussels with white wine, the mussels wasn’t done. They was very slimy. I ate one and left the bowl.

Delicious Pad Thai and Green Curry. Really lovely place with a relaxed vibe. Great portions and the food was some of the best Thai I’ve tasted. The Pad Thai was the perfect balance of flavours, with a great amount of peanut too. We also had the chicken sate which was equally great.

To finish we had the mango sticky rice, but this was only OK. Everything else was phenomenal though so totally forgiven 🙂 will definitely be back and was good value for money!

Definitely coming back to this place! I enjoyed the food so much! It was very tasty and so full of flavor! It’s a little small on the inside so please reserve before coming as it gets busy really quickly! Also its byob so take advantage of that! Our waiter was attentive. The only negative was you really get 90 mins and they time you but I get it . It was dinner time and the crowd was coming in. I highly recommend this place overall! I’ll definitely be back!

It’s a bit packed space and we sat in middle seat so I was constantly conscious while eating that someone passing by won’t hit my arm or elbow. It’s been a while I been there. I remembered it to be more proposition in food. The taste was still good it just in curry there was no vegetables at all. But overall still a good place but on the pricey side though.
