One good thing working downtown is the opportunity to try out all the restaurants normally would not take the trip to try out. JJ Bistro on the second floor of the Sakura Square is a such example. It has been a staple here as far back as I can remember, but never climbed the stairs to eat there. As my new year resolution is to explore more Asian restaurants downtown, JJ Bistro was a perfect candidate (since it was within walking distance from my office). The restaurant was quite roomy and had the traditional American Chinese restaurant feel. Ordered my favorite sesame chicken. For lunch, it came with a spring roll and cheese wonton. The sesame chicken was crispy outside and juicy inside with a sweet, spicy and tangy taste. Surprisingly better than many other sesame chicken in town. Certainly will come back. Heard their black bean sauce dishes were among the must tries.

We were a little skeptical when we walked in but this place actually blew me away! The service is quick and everyone is super kind. Food was great! We weren’t big fans of the spring rolls, but everything else had really really tasty flavor. The environment is really cozy, and the AC inside was such a nice break from the heat outside. Definitely give this place a try if you haven’t!

Fantastic restaurant. Came here with a friend, just a quiet, unassuming restaurant on a Monday night.
The egg drop soup was delicious, rich in flavor with silky eggs. Prawns in lobster sauce had a wonderful flavor. Plenty of cashews (with an equal amount of celery) in the Cashew chicken. 10/10 for both dishes.

The entrance is a little hard to find, due to the main stairs being blocked off, but if you go around the building by the dumpster there is a hidden staircase. As soon as you walk in, the lights are down low, but the atmosphere is very familiar, and calm. The service is excellent, i was treated with love and care, and the food was most definitely made with love. The food was more than delicious, and i love how the woman always checks up on the costumers. Great restaurant for a first date, or a calm meal and conversation. 5 stars.

If you want true take out style Chinese food served with great service then this should already be your #1 spot. If you want that same style food but make it actually good and from an amazingly friendly family who continues to remember your order for years? Than yeah this place becomes so good that even after moving an hour away we still find ways to come grab some.

Had the sesame chicken lunch special, fresh and hot. Also, had a Taro boba tea that was perfectly made. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, great downtown spot for Chinese food at a great price!

Taste of food is very satisfying.
I have been to this location twice & each time has been the exact same experience.

Staff is VERY friendly & the price is perfect for the large portion of food.

Thank you, I will be coming to this restaurant anytime I am looking for filling & delicious Chinese food.

Look up!

I spotted the sign for JJ’s Chinese Bistro on the second floor while walking through the neighborhood — not something you see every day — and had to check it out. My friend and I stopped in for dinner, and even though it was quiet at first, we were greeted by a friendly woman who made us feel right at home.

She helped us choose dishes (spicy Mongolian beef for me, General Tso’s chicken for my friend) and even let us pick our spice level — I went with 4/5, which was perfect. The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The steamed dumplings and eggrolls were delicious, and we added a side of garlic broccoli that was so good we couldn’t stop eating.

Service was quick, warm, and genuine — you can tell they really appreciate their customers.

If you’re nearby, **look up** from your phone and find this little upstairs treasure. JJ’s is the kind of place you’ll be glad you discovered!

I had a wonton soup, orange chicken and a coconut boba tea. All of them great!!

It was just a bit difficult for me to find a way to get into the second floor where the restaurant is because of some construction; but once I found my way, everything was great!

My fiancé and I decided to eat here because it was right above the Sakura Cherry Blossom Festival on the 2nd floor, and my goodness this place has the best Chinese food I’ve eaten since moving to Denver. If youre trying to beat the crowds, we went here around 4 or 5pm, beat the dinner rush. My fiancé had been looking for a place with good Pad Thai, and she said her food was exceptional. I’ve been here before and had the Sesame chicken, which is always amazing, but this time, I tried fried rice with just egg. Best fried rice in a thousand miles. The lady who helped us was so kind and funny. She took care of us, and it felt homely, like I was back in Hawaii eating at the authentic Chinese places. I feel bad for not catching her name, but it felt like when you come home from school and Ma takes care of your meal and it’s too good and somehow nostalgic. Prices are reasonable, and portions are pretty generous considering the state of the world. I left full and happy that there was Cocacola. I got my fiancé a Boba tea to go, and we decided that we will be coming back as long as we live here in CO. Can’t beat good food and good service, a place that values their customers and values the food they serve.
