Today was my husbands and I’s first time coming to this establishment and I was very impressed with our waiter Justin! He took time to break down the ENTIRE menu, gave his honest opinions and recommendations. My husband ordered the Brunch SPECIAL, just for us to try different dishes.
I ordered the JINYA Tonkotsu Black, the pork was sweet and super delicious. My husband ordered Birria Ramen – and the best way I can explain that dish is if you enjoy Mexican food lol. For the Sake—-GEISHA’S DELIGHT is if you like your drinks to be sweet.

My good friend and I (Tams & Ambs) celebrated our February birthdays together, we really enjoyed some sake and brussels sprout appetizer, we both had noodle soups that were incredible and we were able to experience a strawberry and chocolate mochi, and some Matcha tiramisu, which were both wonderful! We had a very nice time and enjoyed all the delicious flavors and can’t wait to come back. Our server, Isabella was so dear, she was an absolute sweetheart and had wonderful recommendations. And Frank, the manager was so kind, coming over and asking how we were and making sure that we were pleased. Such quality service.
We highly recommend!!!!

If you’re looking for authentic Japanese ramen, this place is 100% recommended for the food alone. The broth was incredibly flavorful, rich, and tasted very authentic — you can tell they really know how to build depth in their ramen. Every bite was satisfying and comforting.
The restaurant itself has a very modern, clean atmosphere, which we really liked.
The only hiccup during our visit was the service. We were seated for about 20 minutes and no one stopped by — not even for water. I eventually had to get up and ask who our server was. It also took quite a while for the food to come out. It seemed like they were prioritizing a large number of takeout orders over dine-in guests.
Overall, the ramen absolutely delivered, but I do wish the dine-in service experience could match the quality of the food. If they improve that part, this place would easily be a 5-star spot!

Atmosphere is fun and inviting. It’s a very comfortable space. Our server was fine. She left us for long periods of time. For instance: after my friend finished her food we sat for over 22 minutes before she came back.
The food: #1 It’s Tuesday during restaurant week. They were out of the salad and only had a mixed greens option. They were also our if the dessert options so we could choose between chocolate or vanilla ice cream. I ordered the Spicy tuna tacos which were good but could use a splash of soy sauce. There was no soy sauce available. Next choose was the Jinya Tonkotsu black ramen. This is meant to be a dark flavor with black fungus, garlic, onion, and nori. The only flavor at all was burnt. I tried to add the table seasoning but nothing worked because the burnt flavor was so strong. When someone walked by my friend said “something must have burned” before I mentioned the flavor. I will say the egg was FIRE! I’d buy a dozen of those for the week just to snack on. They were delicious! It was perfectly cooked…. soft but still gummy.
Then we waited and waited. We actually received our bill/ check before the ice cream came out.
Overall, not a place I would recommend as there are several decent Ramen places in KC.

This place was really good. We went during restaurant week, and they were slammed but still gave excellent service. All the food was great, and I don’t know what dressing they put on their house salad but I need more of it ( just says Japanese dressing and it’s not like the ginger sauce you get at hibachi). We definitely will be back again!

We went for restaurant week so was fortunate to have a great deal on the lunch we had. All dishes were extremely tasteful and the service was amazing despite it being very busy! Definitely a place I would try again! (I didn’t care for the salad, but the pork pot stickers were amazing, then spicy ramen and matcha tiramisu) we luckily didn’t have to wait bc we sat at the bar but make a reservation during restaurant week if you want to go!

My son loves ramen so when we are out and about we try new ramen shops. Had pork gyōza they came out perfect. I had the tonkotsu black. Apparently I had more room than I thought was able to eat the whole bowl. The smoked old fashioned was a lunch time treat. If I am in the area again will stop by.

Ordered take out. We arrived at the provided time to pick up our order. My Husband waited over an hour for our take out order while barely being acknowledged (way past the time they told us to arrive for pick up). If we had not paid already, we would have told them to forget the order. Upon the order being brought out, we were told they were out of 2 of our items. The server asked if it was ok, or if we wanted a refund, which we thought was odd. We said of course we want a refund for the 2 items we didn’t receive. 10 minutes later he told us only the manager could give us a refund & the manager was really busy, so it would be awhile. After approx another 10 min, the manager never came, so my husband had to find another server to again ask for the manager, expressing that now our food was getting cold. At this point, we are beyond over it. Finally, the manager, Frank comes out and says that he can’t give us a refund for the missing items, only the GM can. An hour and a half later, we are heading home with ice cold food & having paid for items we didn’t even receive, with no resolution. There was no wait, several open tables & no other people picking up orders to go. I attached our “receipt.” We also witnessed multiple people walking out due to being seated & no one ever coming to their table. Won’t be back.
Update: we arrived home & our food was inedible, we threw it out, even though we wasted $160 & 1.5hrs. Ice cold & gross. Restaurant picked a random amount to refund us, totaling <50% of the bill without ever contacting us.

Restaurant week. The name of the saddest, most pathetic excuse for a week during which I made the mistake of visiting “Jinya”. The venue was packed, a promising sign! What a fool I was. The lengthy wait to be seated in hindsight could only be viewed as the waitstaff’s merciful way of communicating: “You shouldn’t be here.” The food, far from authentic, was a crime against any patron unwise enough to set foot in this trap of a Ramen Bar. I left questioning my faith. How could god allow such an insult to his existence: an average of 4.5 stars on Google reviews? The rice was practically porridge, a mistake that would be impossible with a simple rice cooker. This alone is all I need to say to dismantle any illusory notion of this being a Japanese restaurant, let alone a business somehow allowed to legally sell food. Had I walked in only to be slapped in the face and asked to leave, I would be happier. Instead, I paid good money to find myself more disillusioned with the inadequacy of things that those around me somehow find acceptable. The most edible thing that was served? Mochi ice cream, the only food item they hadn’t the opportunity to desecrate due to its nature of coming in frozen and prepared. Restaurant, weak.
