We enjoy this place, why? 1) it’s quiet , no loud annoying music , no TV to distract you. actually some might say too quiet, I have to suffer through hearing my husband chew his food. So maybe some light background noise would be good. 2) the egg foo Yung is really good 3) hubby can order cashew chicken with no bell peppers and cashews on the side. 4) it’s close to our house 5) great variety on the menu, one day I will try something other than the egg foo Yung . We sit at the same table every time, the one closest to the bathroom that has crayon scribbles on the wall. The restaurant has been here a while and does a great take out business.
The guy that has taken care of us every single time cracks me up. Our first time in , my husband and I were fighting, he gave us a wide berth that night. I’m not concerned about him reading reviews or caring what people say, so I am going to confidently say he has pretty much the worst bedside manner for someone who has to deal with diners in any capacity. It seems like he would rather we took our food home. He seems to just toss plates on to the table, as if he can’t hold on to the plate another second. He is super abrupt. He does not return to the table to check how things are going. He is a smoker, and hygiene is not a priority for him.. ( that I do find really )
Yet with all that said, both good and bad, we consider this our Go To for Chinese food. Mr Personality recognizes us as regulars and even tossed in a ‘see you next time ‘ as we were leaving tonight, which of course had me doing a lot of editing of my first draft. LoL. I do highly suggest this place, and especially suggest the egg foo Yung. There is a nice lady there who always says hello in a friendly manner. Don’t take Mr Personality personally, I think he is just built that way. Enjoy the quiet, ignore the cigarette smell, and give this place some local love.

I just had the pleasure of trying a remarkable dish at a local restaurant that left me absolutely enchanted. The honey walnut shrimp with crispy rice noodles was a true culinary masterpiece, showcasing a perfect fusion of flavors and textures that made it an unforgettable experience

First and foremost, let’s talk about the star of the dish: the jumbo shrimp. The succulent shrimp were cooked to perfection, boasting a tender and juicy texture that simply melted in my mouth. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness, perfectly complemented by the heavenly honey walnut glaze. The combination of the sweet honey and the rich nuttiness of the walnuts created a delightful contrast that elevated the entire dish to new heights.

Accompanying the honey walnut shrimp were perfectly cooked broccoli florets that brought a refreshing and vibrant touch to the dish. The vibrant green color of the broccoli served as a visual treat, and its tender-crisp texture provided a pleasant contrast to the succulent shrimp and the crispy noodles. Moreover, the caramel walnuts sprinkled over the dish added an additional layer of sweetness and crunch, enhancing the overall complexity of flavors

The service at the restaurant was exemplary, with attentive staff members who were knowledgeable about the menu and provided prompt and friendly service. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a cozy atmosphere that enhanced the overall dining experience.

In conclusion, the honey walnut shrimp dish with crispy rice noodles, broccoli florets, and caramel walnuts was a true culinary masterpiece that left me in awe. From the perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp to the harmonious combination of flavors and textures, every element of this dish was executed flawlessly. If you have the opportunity to visit this restaurant, I highly recommend indulging in this sensational creation. It’s an experience that will undoubtedly leave you craving for more.

The taste here truly stands out. It’s comparable to the authentic flavors you find in New York Chinatown. I was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend!

Jing Xin’s is a small shop, looks very simple but don’t let this fool you, the food was absolutely delicious! Our server was friendly and attentive and let us take time to enjoy our meal. They do deliver, but it is well worth having the dishes arrive to your table fresh from the kitchen. Pan fried dumplings were generous and delicious and the shredded pork with scallions brang back memories of my childhood. Thank you Jing Xin!

Fresh food, great customer service. I got the shrimp fried rice and fried spring rolls. Restaurant has seating for 15-20 guests. They played pop music and the restaurant is a little dark. Overall, it’s a good option for quick Asian food.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I read reviews, confident I was going to find a really good Chinese restaurant. I ordered the Szechuan Shrimp. I asked what came in it, I was told onion, green onion, bell pepper, carrots.. I asked for no carrots. It has baby corn ( I’m allergic) broccoli and snap peas. I don’t like broccoli nor snap peas. I was not informed that the shrimp would be breaded – smh I’ve never had breaded shrimp at any Asian restaurant… it has always been sautéed. Im So disappointed! I work in the MedCenter and I have not had anything to eat all day. The total was $17and change- I gave a $3.00 tip. Their customer service was excellent!! But this is not what I thought I was getting so I basically gave away $20 for something I can’t and do not want to eat.

I am willing to give it another chance.
Again, Customer Service

People who are claiming “5 star” of the food at this restaurant, then I would say please try some “real authentic” chinese food (Try Bellaire – Chinatown) to know how delicious and quality chinese food can be. Btw, I lived in China for several years and I am a good cook. The vegetarian flat rice noodles we ordered was horrible with no veggies which we could claim vegetarian. The quality and freshness of vegetables were really bad. We ordered few order dishes and all are below our expectation. I ordered the food based on the google rating however it was terrible! This restaurant cares about money and not quality and freshness of the food served.

This is a update!!!! New owners, the food is awful!!!! This was our go to Chinese place, Not anymore. I called to tell them the delivered food was not the same, they said it’s new owners. I asked if they had the old owners recipes & they said yes, but the new chef cooks it differently. They didn’t not offer to make it right. Don’t waste your money here, it’s not good.
