I had an amazing experience with Jin Chinese Food. My first order was completely misdelivered by the delivery company (I received a totally different person’s meal from another restaurant), and Jin went above and beyond to fix it. They immediately remade and redelivered everything so my family did not go hungry.
The food itself was fantastic. The Sesame Chicken was super flavorful and not soggy at all, and the chicken was all white meat with no weird grisly pieces, which is a huge win for me. We also ordered the General Tso’s tofu, which was nicely crisp, and the beef teriyaki, which was so good my kiddo ate three of them (and he is notoriously picky). The sweet and sour chicken was tasty too, and again, they used good quality chicken for this.
I would definitely recommend trying out Jin, and I will absolutely be ordering from them again soon.

Easy access caught my eye as I tried Jin’s for the 1st time. Impressive presentation as we were served by the new Japanese ownership themselves. The friendly and smart family knew exactly what I was looking for, and then, almost like magic, out from the kitchen came our tasty lunch. I wanted to try the oriental ginger sauce on my chicken, but my friend couldn’t eat sauces. We were sharing.

Small restaurant (currently offering take out and delivery only), short hours and no menu. You have to go to a website to see the menu. Friendly girl behind the counter offered to show us the menu on a small handheld machine (same one that takes credit card and Apple Pay payments). Food was very good, big portions and prices were not too bad. We’ll be back!

My son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County. We always order the same thing.
I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and teriyaki sticks.
In this case, Jin’s has discontinued offering combination meals, so we ordered the equivalent meals a la carte.
Price: $40.65. On a price per ounce basis ( $.46/oz), the price is outrageously high.
Portion: 5.5lbs between the two meals is a bit larger than average.
Pros: Good location easily accessible from the heart of Winooski.
Overall, the food had good flavor. The pork fried rice was moist and tasty. Microwavable trays are a bonus and distinctive.
Hot and spicy offering is available.
Cons: PRICE, PRICE, PRICE! On a per ounce basis, Jin’s is nearly twice as expensive as comparable Chinese takeouts in Chittenden County.
Reduced hours 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, a 53% reduction from pre-Covid.
By charging 2X, they’re able to reduce business hours by half and maintain pre-Covid income level.
We ordered just after opening at 3:00 pm and it took 35 minutes for the food to be ready.
Impression: Good food at a convenient location. Ridiculously high pricing around 2X the average Chinese takeout in Chittenden County. Had the price been in line with the average for this area, this restaurant would have earned 4 stars. Because pricing was prohibitively high, we’re giving Jin a 2 star review.

The food is consistently good but upon getting my order delivered half of it was not there. The clerk on the phone was only able to offer me a partial refund and said it was impossible to send the rest of our order. I believe they outsource their deliveries via door dash which only adversely effects the consumer and leads to situations like this which should be otherwise easy to resolve.

It was a great place to wait and the employees were very kind but I wouldn’t suggest getting the General Taos chicken. Is wasn’t very good and the person with me didn’t like it either. But I thought the crab Rangoon’s were very good, but I was disappointed with my meal.

After trying several Chinese food places all over the area, this place is the best! Great food and portion sizes at a reasonable price! Been going here for a couple of years now and they have never gotten our orders wrong, not even once, and we sometimes have very large orders! Their online ordering system is easy and they are very prompt with order times! They will make your food as spicy as you want or they can keep it tame. All soups, crab rangoon, dumplings and noodle dishes are great! We have never been disappointed with any of the main dishes. The front staff is very friendly and they treat you with kindness and respect. This is a take out only place but worth your drive to get it! We are sad that they take time off in the summer. We haven’t found any place in Chittenden county that comes close to this for good Chinese food!
