Y’alllllllll. Jim’s Seafood has got to be my absolute favorite hidden gem for cheap and delicious fried food.
I went today on my lunch break and ordered a popcorn shrimp dinner with fried rice(yes, there is rice under all them skrimps ) and 2 eggrolls. Their eggrolls are my absolute favorite in Lake Charles. Everything on the menu is made to order, so they’re super crispy and flavorful. The shrimp were crisp and hot, and the rice paired perfectly with a packet of soy sauce mixed in.
I got this massive plate for only $13.40. I’m going to be eating this for 2 days. And they aren’t stingy with the sauce! I got a handful of duck and soy sauce with my order.
I’m always super pleased with the quick and friendly service, and the quality of my orders have never been less than perfect. If you haven’t been by, they’re located at 1400 Broad Street. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been eating at Jim’s since I was a kid, and the food is always awesome! The quality of their food has never changed. It’s fresh, delicious, and made to order so it’s always hot when served to you. Their prices and their service are great too! The popcorn shrimp dinner is my favorite, but everything on the menu is awesome! I highly recommend Jim’s if you want some amazing fried seafood!

(Cash only! Be prepared when you go!) Prices are low and extremely reasonable. Portions are big and plenty to fill your belly… most of the time I actually have plenty left over for later. Food is always fresh. Always great flavor. Always perfectly cooked. (never too raw; never over-done) It’s just plain RELIABLE! Small selection, but something to please everyone, even the picky eaters. I love this place and also love that it’s CONSISTENTLY good! I never have the fear factor of whether or not today be a mystery… “will it be good enough to survive on, or will it be done right?” Staff is always knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. It’s a local favorite as a “go to” for a reason! Overall, I consider it “comfort food” since it’s reliably cooked and consistently delicious. In my opinion, you just can’t go wrong with Jim’s!
