This is a really good breakfast place. Service was great, restaurant was really clean and the food was delicious. My bacon was crispier than I would have liked, but did not change my overall experience. It felt like I was in my grandparent’s kitchen/dining room. I would recommend Jim’s for a laid back relaxed dining experience. Good family option.

Visited this Jim’s Restaurant on a Friday evening in July around 8pm. Not many people there, but they did seem to get a lot of take out orders. Waitress was very polite and knowledgeable. Food came out fast and was hot and fresh. Prices were about average for a sit down restaurant. Overall a good experience and definitely recommend.

Being the first time eating at Jim’s restaurant and I did do a takeout and it was pretty good. It was a hamburger and I can’t remember. I think I did have french fries but I’m not quite sure it was pretty good. I did see on the menu and on the wall that they have daily specials and I’m gonna have to do one of those specials the pot roast I’m I need to try the pot roast that looks very very, very good.

This Jim’s is a sorry excuse for a restaurant. A couple of friends of mine & me went there to eat. The waiter, dressed in a Christmas coat took a while to come to our table. Then we ordered ice tea. We had water delivered to us instead. After our food arrived, the waiter didn’t return not once to check to see if we needed anything. It was so frusterating. Then the waiter tried to charge us for the ice teas, even though we never got it delivered to us. Whats really sad was there were only about 8 customers in the whole restaurant at the time. Not busy at all. What a huge failure this restaurant was. Id recommend everyone go next door to Cracker barrel instead. The food will be better and the customer service will definitely be much better than Jim’s.

I went to Jim’s to pick up tortilla soup To Go because I wasn’t feeling well and felt like I was coming down with a cold. Jim’s has always been my go to in Austin, and although I’d seen some recent concerning reviews, I decided to trust the location and avoid driving farther while sick.
When I picked up my order, I checked it in my car and realized it was mostly just broth. I wasn’t given a spoon, so I used my fingers to taste it, it was my soup anyway. Since it wasn’t what I expected, I went back inside to request a refund.
What happened next genuinely shocked me. The gentleman at the counter (I’m not sure if he was a manager; he was wearing a Vivid jacket) took the soup from me, visibly upset, and then handed it directly to another guest. I was stunned and honestly at a loss for words. I even tried to find the guest to tell him I had touched the soup and that I was sick, but I wasn’t able to locate him.
I’m writing this review because this was not just disappointing, it was extremely unsanitary. If this happened so casually, I can’t imagine this was the first time. Between my experience and the recent reviews, I strongly encourage others to take these concerns seriously.

I’ve been coming to this fine establishment for the past month, and the servers are nice. Everything is always cooked to perfection wait times are excellent. However there’s this manager Ebony I believe his name is always seems to be attacking one server I believe her name is Jessica? Not sure if it’s a sexual issue, or he genuinely don’t like her, and the other day I was in there he made the comment “I don’t like White people” meanwhile at least one of his servers is white, and one of the cooks is white, and several of the patrons were white as well. Come on is this really the type of behavior that should be tolerated by a member of management? That really brought down my experience don’t think I want to come back either.

We have had breakfast at Jim’s for years and it’s still as good as ever. We really enjoy the short stack pancakes, which are a good size & so fluff but not dried. We also get the potato & egg with cheese & ham tacos, and the ham & Swiss on rye…so good, but not on menu. Great

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. Gave me half a bowl of soup that was cold told me that they weren’t making biscuits because the cooks were being lazy and that’s on top of waiting 10+ minutes for drinks and about 30 for cold food with terrible portions. I love coming into town for Jim’s and this sucked. My soul was cold and I could t even order biscuits and gravy lol. Our server was nice and I felt bad seeing her run around trying to handle what seems like horrible management.

This is the equivalent of a run down Denny’s. We got the cinnamon roll, breakfast tacos and the texas two step. The cinnamon roll was strange, like it had been frozen too long and had a slightly chewy texture, the icing was not quite cream cheese (it wasn’t as sour as cream cheese) but not quite a traditional icing either. It was just odd, like most of the food here. The tacos were great if you don’t like flavor. The only thing that we could recommend was the pancakes they were actually tasty, that might be because everything else was so plain.
