First time here and I went based off of the reviews. I will say that the reviews kind of fell short, the food is awesome, service is outstanding! I got there about a half hour before close which is around the time places with griddles start to clean up and they still fired it back up and delayed cleaning so that I could get the burgers I came for! The kids tore their hotdogs and fries up. Pricing is very good especially for a brick and mortar joint that has overhead employees etc. Will definitely return for some ice cream with the kids once it warms up so we can work our way across the menu!

Sitting outside was the only enjoyable part of this experience. I don’t know why the reviews are so good. We came here as a group from work and everyone said the same thing. The food is bland, over priced, the special sauce had no flavor, and they are extremely slow. All of our orders were incorrect. The best part was that two of us ordered the same thing, got charged different costs, and got two completely different orders. I’m not sure if we had a fluke experience but all 5 of our group said we would not come back. I don’t know how food that looks so good came out so terrible. We came here for the hype and were thoroughly disappointed. Also they don’t write anything down (explains the wrong orders and inconsistent charges) and the service was not friendly at all and definitely did not make us feel welcomed.

I have no words for what we just experienced. Slowest, poorest service ever – order taker wrote nothing down and couldn’t remember what I ordered immediately after I said it. At the 25 minute mark of our wait, I watched the couple before me come back up for the third time because mistakes were made on their order. At 30 minutes, they were still waiting for their order to be corrected – food they had already gotten was cold at that point no doubt. At 35 minutes, our order was still not ready, but I curiously watched the one worker hold hot dogs in buns on his hairy arm while he added sauce. At 40 minutes that couple was still waiting for their order to be made right. At 43 minutes we left. I’m thinking either the order taker forgot I ordered 2 hot dogs or perhaps his phone he kept checking was just delaying those hot dogs from being boxed up. The 10 other people waiting endlessly were as disgusted as we were. Jim’s is a JOKE!

First time checking out Jim’s. Nice little spot. Enjoyed the hotdogs. Fries could of been cooked a little longer but other then that we really enjoyed it. Definitely will come back to try the ham and cheese. I hear it’s killer.

The food isn’t bad. It’s your average hot dog/burger joint. The “famous” sauce, however, is not good. Also, the wait for a couple of hot dogs is a little ridiculous. The few times I went here, I felt like I waited entirely too long just for a couple of hot dogs, and it wasn’t a busy day either. All in all, the food is not terrible, it’s average, the “famous” sauce is gross, and the wait is usually a little too long for my liking.

It’s a place that you order the food through a window. I ordered the Italian sausage with onions and Jim’s sauce. It was cooked as soon as l ordered and it was one of the best sausages I’ve ever had. The sauce was also delicious. I will be returning to try the other menu items

Since 1927, families from all over the Pittsburgh area have been coming to the drive in from some of the best burgers, hot dogs and shakes in the area. Their unique and original sauce makes it well worth the trip on top of the hill in Duquesne. They have a good over all menu but we have mostly had the burgers and hot dogs with sauce, onions and cheese. With the hot dogs, they put everything together and then place it under the broiler for a great taste. Well worth the trip. Highly recommended!
