On Valentine’s Day 2026, my wife and I visited the Jimmy John’s in North Liberty, Iowa. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply concerning. We weren’t greeted, and the cashier seemed inexperienced, struggling with the POS system. While waiting, we observed the manager making our sandwiches—once prepared, she left them open, and then, while still wearing her meat gloves, touched the POS system and went right back to handling the sandwiches. This was a blatant disregard for cross-contamination, and it left us extremely uncomfortable. While we did request a remake, it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. I hope Jimmy John’s takes this as a serious reminder about hygiene protocols. I won’t be returning, and I hope others are aware.

I am so furious with this place! Normally I have NO ISSUES with my food but today after specifically paying for and saying what I did and did not want on my food, what do you know it was mad WRONG!! I specifically asked for no tomatoes because I’m allergic and extra chicken that I paid for and still did not give me what I paid for and wanted!!

I ordered a new Sicilian along with my usual sandwich to give it a try. It looked good on the adds. It was awful. Way over seasoned, to the point I thought the lid might have fell off of the shaker. I couldn’t taste any of the meats or cheese. I went to the drive up.

Put an online order 30 minutes ahead, show up and it’s not even started when we need to be somewhere. Get my order and 2 sandwiches are wrong…. Not coming to this location again and maybe not JJ at all!

Wow this place is bottom of the barrel. Over 30 minutes of waiting for us to get our food. Staff was super rude when I asked how much longer it would be after sitting there for 20 minutes.

Normally a pretty good delivery sandwich place. Lately, I’ve noticed mistakes increasing. (Smaller items like condiments being forgotten, chips being swapped out for different flavors etc) All understandable especially if its a busy lunch hour. But today they literally put nothing on my sandwich. I was given bread, with nothing in it. I even took a bite because often it’s not filled to the point you can see the ingredients. Will not be returning to Jimmy Johns.

Sandwiches are made quick, but delivery times are a bad joke. It’ll take 40 minutes to deliver a sandwich 2 miles. That’s not an exaggeration or isolated incident, this has happened multiple times. Good as an absolute last resort, but I would order well in advance and not expect attention to detail. Most of your customizable options and extras will be ignored. Today’s order was supposed to be cut in half with added avocado (there’s a splash of avocado if you look closely haha). Hands down the worst Jimmy Johns I’ve ordered from.
*** UPDATE ***
The owner responded with a feedback form. I filled it out more than a year ago and never heard back — I’m typing this in November 2021.

Order from here regularly because it’s so close and kids like it. Somehow my simple order gets messed up about half the time and it’s never ready within 20 minutes of placing the order. Pickup orders are also never put in the pickup area, you have to ask one of the employees if you can get their attention.

Don’t Expect !
This location does not allow you to put oil on the Tuna sandwich even if requested or paid for.
Expect an argumentative employee to tell you absolutely Not!
They would rather give a refund, than give you the sandwich the way you prefer it!
Go to subway – Go to Jersey Mikes for your Tuna with oil sandwiches.
Complained to Corporate and they stand behind the denial of oil on the sandwiches. Stated it’s due to shortages. Bit also that it’s only for meat sandwiches. Which is false. Every day tuna is canned in water and oil. Frankly in my opinion, the only way to eat tuna is with oil. You might think that a sandwich shop such as Jimmy John’s would understand and know the art and design of the sandwich and the customer experience but they don’t. I also went and designed a sandwich on the website and it allows you to build this sandwich this way I desired. Corporate was very generous and offering me a $2 off coupon for my complaint! Honestly, it made me laugh because they did not care about the customer experience one bit. I didn’t want any money. I just wanted the problem to be taken care of. I’ve been eating at JJ’s for 20+ years probably and I always order the tuna with oil at other local JJ shops. To just disregard your customer is a huge no-no. What a letdown. Like I stated to the corporate executive that responded to my complaint, I hope when you go to order food at the counter somewhere that they tell you, you cannot have what you have ordered, when you know for a fact, that you can! I hope that an angry hopped up sandwich maker somewhere treats you the same way that I’ve been treated in the North Liberty JJ’s. In a line filled with people, becoming a dishonored customer, looking like you are the one in the wrong. And when it happens, I hope you think of the guy that didn’t get the oil he requested. Done
No Thanks JJ’s North Liberty
