Last time I ordered delivery from here they sent it to an Uber eats driver and it took almost an hour to get to me. So much for “freaky fast” delivery. The whole reason I order from a place like JJs or a pizza place and not any restaurant in the world is that I hate using those shitty gig apps because the drivers always suck and I want an employee from the restaurant who has some accountability to the establishment to do the delivery properly. If you’re going to farm out my delivery to some idiot that takes 45 minutes to drive my order a couple miles (in a tiny college town no less), I’d rather just have it canceled or pick it up myself at that point, but of course by the time I get the notification that Uber eats is doing it, it’s already too late. Will not be giving this location my business again.

A group of us nurses on my unit ordered over the phone to get some sandwiches delivered. They fully took our order, but never put it in, and nothing ever showed up. We didn’t even get a call to say they had no intention of getting us our food. Super disappointing. We’ve been waiting on it for a while now and had to put two and two together.

Better to call this location versus swinging by. Went there at NOON ( LUNCH TIME ) just for the employee to inform me they’re closing for lunch (???) and locked the door. Beyond weird interaction and very annoying. Never seen a store randomly close in the middle of the day. So you open at 10:30 AM and close at 11:58AM…………?

Ordered a sub and chips. Never got my food. Called after an hour wait and was told food would be soon. Called 20 minutes later and was told it would be delivered soon. Tried to call another 20 minutes later and call wouldn’t go through. Don’t waste your time with them..

I was picking up a doordash delivery and everything was done in a timely fashion. There is what looks like renovations going on inside the business so it’s a bit cluttered.
My concern comes with a worker who I saw vaping in the back where food is. Vapes are still considered a form of smoking and in turn can be a contagion while working with food. This is why food handler certificates are made to abide by these rules and regulations to not hurt the wide range of consumers. It is also dangerous considering these regulations give us a sense of security that the food prepared will be done in a cleanly and food safe environment. I hope the person vaping in the back thinks about that and doesn’t vape in the store,and on the clock, again.

Three stars because it’s a Jimmy John’s… not exactly gourmet eats regardless of location. I ordered 2 sandwiches and they got them out in a timely fashion. I accidentally ordered the wrong sandwich for my kiddo and the employees remade it, no charge. By doing so they prevented a huge melt down. So for that reason, this Jimmy John’s is ok in my book

The Jimmy Johns location in Iowa City is notoriously SLOW with delivery. A few weeks ago I ordered a sandwich and requested delivery as I needed to work over my lunch and had a 1:15pm meeting. I waited over an hour to receive my delivery. When I called to inquire about the sandwich the worker was less than apologetic and told me they were “just busy.” Recently I received a “free sandwich” redemption code. I decided to give them another shot, since the sandwich was free. I ordered my sandwich at 11:43am and waited over 45 minutes for my delivery. My office is literally two blocks from the Jimmy Johns. However, I’m also told the customer service in-store is bad too. I think their management could do better at this location.

This had just happened. I ordered my Jimmy Johns sandwich at approximately 159AM. The guy that took my order said they would get to me ASAP. Great! I didn’t want the delivery guy to wait for me since they seemed busy, so I went downstairs right away to the first floor of the dorm I live in. I waited for approximately 45 minutes with no word from them. I called them again to confirm that my order was on the way. The guy that picked up said that “it was PROBABLY on the way.” Alright… So I waited for another 30 minutes. I got tired of waiting, so I called one final time, and it turned out, my order was voided for some reason?? At this point, I’m starving, so I’m pretty annoyed. Well what happened was, one of the employees inputed my phone number incorrectly, and as a result, they were contacting a different person who had nothing to do with my order. I did not get my sandwich unfortunately. The manager was pretty nice and professional about it, which I appreciated. This is why I gave a 2-star rating rather than a 1-star rating. I also ended up receiving 10$ dollars in store credit. I’m just disappointed that I wasted about 1.5 hours of my time for a very simple mistake they made. However, I realize that everyone makes mistakes, so I really hope they don’t make this same mistake again. And I do really like Jimmy Johns sandwiches in general, but I am hesitant to order from this specific store location again.

Food was good, but delivery driver was extremely rude and yelled at me over the phone. He said he was going to be at my location in a couple of minutes and when I asked how long he yelled and said COUPLE MINUTES. He then tried to argue with me about how much my tip was, very, unprofessional and rude
