Food: While the ingredients were fresh, the flavor just wasn’t there. The ratio of ingredients to bread/tortilla is pretty off as well. The entire inside of the sandwich would fall out with every bite; it was pretty frustrating. Same goes for the wrap. It was overstuffed (normally not a bad thing), so each bite resulted in the inside falling out as well as the torn tortilla, which made it almost impossible to hold to eat. The meat was dry (chicken and roast beef), so both items could’ve done with a bit more sauce/flavor and the sandwich was supposed to be toasted; they didn’t toast it :/ The price point for the quality of food just isn’t there. It’s overpriced for subpar food.
Service: Possibly all of the employees said “Welcome to Jimmy John’s” as we entered. One employee in particular (a slightly older gentleman) was really welcoming and said hello as we approached the counter. The other employees didn’t really look up much, besides one young lady (possibly a trainee), who seemed really irritated with our presence. Every time she made eye contact, she looked annoyed with us. Our food came out quickly though. It came out wrong, but quick.
Ambiance: Overall, it was loud. No matter the spot inside, it was loud in there. The seating areas weren’t really cleaned well (if at all?) with food debris scattered about; we wiped a booth down to sit and eat.
We didn’t get any pictures of our food because we really just wanted to leave. It was uncomfortable eating there.

Placed an order for pick up. Drove 10 minutes from the office to pick up, 10 minutes back. Sandwiches have no meat. Call and told it was likely a mistake and to bring the receipt and they will remake. No big deal – mistakes happen. At this point I’m not that upset and throw the sandwiches in the trash and head 10 minutes back to the store. Staff recognizes me as I was just there 20 minutes ago and ask to see the sandwiches. I explain that I just drove from the office and was not told on the phone to bring sandwiches in and offered the pictures that I had taken as an alternative. The staff refuses this alternative and will not do anything unless I bring the sandwiches back. I should have just contacted the credit card company and done a stop charge at this point but out of principle I drive 10 minutes back to the office, grab the sandwiches out of the trash, 10 minutes back to the store and hand them the sandwiches. After they do their forensic science on the sandwiches and determine I am, in fact, not lying, they agree to remake my sandwiches. I am 45+ minutes into the fiasco at this point. Angry and needing to get back to work, I just take the remade sandwiches and finish with it.
Food and taste was what you would expect out of Jimmy Johns anyway.
TLDR: Only order in store if you have time. If they mess up your order, it may not be fixed easily or at all.

Been here a few times and the food is great! Unfortunately, the orders are often mixed up or they forget certain requests. Overall, I feel as though it is a good place to eat. I would just ensure you check your order for accuracy if you are going through the drive thru or picking up an order.

So sad that the drive thru wait was over 20 mins, service was dismissive, and I got the wrong sandwich. Didn’t know it til I unwrapped it at home. C’mon JJ’s, do better please

Worst JJ’s experience by far. Drive through pick up with my family on our way out of town. After arriving home 20 minutes later open my sandwich to a burnt French bread. Called and all they offered was a free credit for another sandwich at this location only. Lesson learned Don’t leave the drive through without checking the integrity of the crew working.

A few weeks ago, I ordered delivery and it took almost two hours to arrive. I wasn’t too peeved about that since the manager was communicative and apologized for the delay each time we spoke. The issue is, I opened up my bag to see a crumpled up napkin next to my sandwich. After picking it up, it was clear that someone blew their nose with it… I called the store and the manager offered to give me a $5 credit next time I went in, but when I tried using that credit none of the staff knew what I was talking about. They refused to give me the $5 off, and to top it off they gave me the wrong sandwich. I honestly didn’t even bother trying to make that better because I knew it would be such a hassle. There are other locations in Ames that will give you the right food *without* used tissues, don’t go to this one.

Love Jimmy John’s and usually go to another store in town. But was in the area and went through drive through for my usual Slim 5 and Lg Diet Coke. Sandwich was great. Drink was filled literally to the rim with ice, the diet coke was gone in moments. I realize not everybody wants the same amount of ice, but it should not be filled to the top.

First JJ that the people just were non friendly bad day in shop or something not addressing customers till they demanded attention
Not calling out orders or barely loud enough to know what order was ready or who’s was who’s
Wasn’t busy when we arrived only a couple and one other person ahead and then it picked up and no change in service
Food was prepared as requested and besides the delay was typical JJ.
Usually go to other locations as parking and in and out isn’t great not the greatest of accessibility

I stopped in today and grabbed a sub.. man I wish I would have drove across town… Meat tasted like it came out of a footlocker.
Service was great. Place seemed clean… but sub, had better!

I just went through the drive through with, no cars in front of me or behind me. I got two sandwiches with added cheese. I got home to realize there wasn’t any on my blt, which is a bit confusing since there are only 3 other other toppings. How hard can it be to read and complete and order when there is only one customer present. The sandwiches are overpriced for what they are too.
