It’s a cool spot with a good and inviting ambiance to it. Our waitress (young gal with glasses) was superb! I am sorry we didn’t get her name and it’s not on the receipt. The owner was also there, and made it a point to stop by every table. She even knew it was our first time in. From the ambiance and service experience, this is the best in Grover for a restaurant. It’s also within walking distance for us, and fatkid likes to eat.
We ordered cheesy bread that was delicious, and I thought my wife was gonna fight me over the last piece. My wife ordered the egg plant primavera, she didn’t let me have a taste, but there was nothing left to go home with. I ordered their spaghetti with meatballs and marinara sauce. Delicious! We shared a calzone, fork fighting to the finish. Everything had that fresh look, texture, and flavor to it!
I also eyed the other dishes folks were being served. They all looked wonderful.
If we wouldn’t have driven there, I’d have rolled my way down the street home – I was so full! I personally think that our other local Italian Restaurants are a bit lacking and overrated, you just don’t get that freshness feeling from them, more commercial like. This ain’t one of them. We will be happy regulars!
The restaurant isn’t that large, but it has a cozy feeling to it kind’ve like my grandma’s house from when I was a kid.
We had the Sunday Gravy(Spaghetti & meat sauce), Toasted Ravioli, house salad, and Eggplant Parmigiana.
The Toasted Ravioli was alright for an appetizer, though the Mozzarella marinara may have been a better choice. There wasn’t a lot of flavor to them. Not bad, but not really enticing.
House salad was good. Chickpeas were a pleasant addition.
Sunday Gravy is a weird name for Spaghetti, as today is Saturday and the sauce had no similarity to Gravy. It was pretty darn good, and I was tempted to order another to go.
Eggplant Parmigiana had 2 rather generous pieces, with some very well prepared vegetables. Quite good.
Portion sizes are good, service is polite and quick. Really quaint location, and if you’re looking for an Italian style restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, this really should be a place you consider.
The food is the star of the show. The lasagna is what I think is their show case. The chicken parmigiana is my personal favorite.
