This restaurant is located at 147 Traders Way in Pooler, Georgia, just off I-95 near the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. It’s location makes it a convenient stop for travelers heading north or south. It’s part of a chain known for Southern-style, slow-cooked barbecue. Their menu shows that they feature brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs. Access was easy with a straightforward entrance from the main road, and there was plenty of parking in the lot surrounding the stand-alone building. We didn’t need a reservation and were greeted promptly by a friendly host who seated us quickly in a booth. The menu is a single 2-sided tri-fold page packed with lots of options, including meats by the pound, platters, sandwiches, salads, and a variety of sides like mac and cheese, greens, potato salad, and cornbread muffins. Portions are really large, so come hungry or be ready to get a to-go bag so you can have extra meals later. I ordered the baby back BBQ ribs, which were good and tender but had a unique smoky flavor profile different from what I’m used to. The tea was excellent. The staff was very pleasant throughout, checking in without being overly obvious. The restaurant was clean with a mix of booths and tables. Prices were definitely reasonable given the quality and the generous amount of food we each got—a full meal with sides came in under $20 per person. Overall, I would recommend this to fellow travelers in the area looking for solid Southern BBQ in a relaxed setting. Enjoy!
We started off with apps. Smoked wings and deviled eggs. The wings had a lightly smoked flavor and were moderately sauced. The wings were large and, because they were smoked rather than fried, were not crispy. I prefer my wings small and crispy. YMMV.
The deviled eggs, though? Fantastic. Outside of my mother’s, these were the best deviled eggs I’ve ever had. Creamy with a nice spice. Just delicious.
I ordered the three meat combo (probably will never be back, so had to try add much as I could) with sides of baked beans and potato salad. The pulled pork was good, not great. Solid overall. Light smoke flavor. Adding the ir BBQ sauce livened up the flavor. The brisket was better; again a light smoke flavor. The jalapeno Cheddar sausage was the best of them all. Just the right amount of heat, juicy, and cheesy with a crisp skin.
The star of the show, though? Our server, Kadie, who was beyond terrific. She was attentive, helpful, friendly, just a great, delightful human being. She answered all of our questions with a smile, including directions to the nearest drug store. If Jim n Nick’s management is reading this, give this lady a promotion. She’s out there representing you well.
Overall, a great road trip find. Will definitely return if we find ourselves in this neck of the world again.
31 Oct ‘25 2:12 pm. 2 stars. Drive thru order. Pulled pork value meal, with beans, collards, and coleslaw, pickles, regular bbq sauce and a carolina mustard sauce. $39.99 + 1.20 packaging fee + tax + tip. The lady at window was friendly and got my order exactly right. Didn’t say a word about my asking for two different sauces, appreciate that. The pork had a big chunk of gristle and probably a cup of fat which I picked out before serving it to my family. The coleslaw tasted weird like vinegar with a ton of sugar in it. The collards and beans were yummy.
23 Jul ‘25 1430ish 1 star. We love the food here and eat here at least twice a month. Today at drive thru I place my normal order for value feast and I ask for two different sauces. One little container is not enough for so much meat. Guy told me I can’t have two different sauces unless I pay extra. So I questioned him because seriously it’s not about paying extra, it’s about ordering a meal for a family and not receiving enough sauce or two different sauces to offer your family. Why so generous with meat and sides and refuse to give enough sauce? After all if you eat inside you get all the sauce you want, it’s sitting right there on the tables. Why penalize take out customers? Honestly, make it make sense.
18 Jun ‘25 4:40 pm 4 Stars. Online order for pickup. Value feast dinner feeds 4 easy. 1 1/2 pounds chopped pork, 3 pint size trimmings, 4 buns, 6 cheese biscuits, pickles, bbq sauce, all for $39.99 + tax + packaging fee. Was good and plenty with leftovers. Everyone was friendly and seemed to be working hard today. Only suggestions for next time… I’d like to pick up at drive thru and receive twice or 3 times as much sauce.
The mac&cheese was also not the best. The House Salat was great.
