Had an amazing experience at Jim Dandy’s in Rutherford. Alessandro and Peter provided outstanding customer service — super friendly, patient, and really helped me and my wife with our order. The food was incredible, especially the ribs with mashed potatoes and cornbread… absolutely delicious. Everything came out hot, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We’ll definitely be coming back. I randomly found out across this barbecue restaurant as I walked along the main strip. Having no knowledge of this location, my curiosity led me inside.
Jose, the manager, told me the chef prepares a homemade barbecue sauce, which has been a family secret recipe for over 30 years. Jose also brought to my attention a really great deal offered on Tuesdays: full rack of ribs for the cost of a half rack! He gave me a free sample of the secret sauce.
That spoon size taste went a long way as I was immediately hooked by its flavor and tanginess. With the exception of the wings, I tried the sauce on all of their killer meats! The tender, juicy brisket melted in my mouth. The pork ribs fell right off the bone.
My personal favorite was the bird in hand. This half chicken made me feel like I was in dining at Medieval Times in Lyndhurst! The only thing missing was a tournament with gladiators grappling in a colosseum!
Between the tasty meats, strictly confidential house made barbecue sauce, and the excellent service from the manager and the servers, I was very content and my crave for barbecue has been happily fulfilled!

Looking up on google found this spot it was in a nice area. Customer service wasn’t great but got me in and out. I got the General toast, chicken, and yellow rice the guy said it’s one of their famous plates so I try it out. Definitely good food I would definitely go back and I think they give you more on a Thursday. Good food ! It’s a bbq place but has a lot of options.

This was the first time I ate here. The gentleman that took our order was very nice and helpful. We had the ribs, brisket and fries and baked potato. Everything was delicious. The coleslaw was the best I have had in a long time. Will definitely return soon.

The pace is very cozy and big. Perfecta to go with friends, fam or just for a date. The pulled pork is amazing. The fried sweet potatos is heaven, and of course the service was great! Defórmele I’ll come back for more good food .

My experience was okay. I didnt like how we had to pay before we ate. We had to get our own drinks and go to the counter to order our food, instead of ordering from the table. Food was good. Didn’t enjoy the potato skins too much because the cheese tasted more like the “nacho dip” cheese instead of real cheddar cheese. I loved how they had homemade cupcakes for $1.00, and they were delicious. The menu prices are cheap which is great.

Didn’t have the best experience! The service wasn’t great! The food was not flavored well and was very dry. At least the fries were alright? The only great thing is the layout and location, you can sit and eat while being outside or enjoying the fresh air in Rutherford.

This place is the spot to go! I consider myself a faithful customer. I went before the unfortunate fire occurred last year. My husband, son and I had a wonderful dinner several days ago. We had the smoked brisket, General Tso Chicken wings (OMG DO DIE FOR!! ) and fries. Then came back on a Thursday for their Tso Chicken special which comes with rice (The portion is beyond . I had enough leftovers for the next day to have for lunch), also ordered brisket burger that came with fries. If you’re looking for a spot to have ribs brisket and wings or fries any kind of finger foods especially not minding dirtying your fingers because at the end you will be licking them Then this is the place to go!! ❤️

Ordered half ribs half chicken combo for DELIVERY 1 mile out. Took an hour which is acceptable if the food is good. Food was cold when it got here. $30. Better quality food for half the price at any of the Polish delis nearby. No joke. Also had mozzarella sticks which were ok. Wish the Polish delis delivered.

This place is always constantly good. I recently ate in on a random weekday afternoon and had a lunch special philly steak with the works and american cheese. It was so delicious. Fresh, soft but firm roll. The thin, tender sliced beef was juicy with a rich beefy broth flavor. It also came with crunchy and fluffy seasoned fries and fountain bev, which was also tasty.
