My wife and I stopped in. Our meal was terrific! I ordered ribs. Not the best I’ve ever had. However, they were very good. I like mine a bit more seasoned (this is just a preference). Potato salad was a good side. The cowboy beans were fantastic!

My wife got a steak and man was it good. It was better than the ribs, and that’s not a knock on the ribs. They have a ton of very unique bbq sauces.

I am very happy we ar jimbos bbq. My only complaints aren’t food related. While clean, the restaurant has some clutter that could be addressed. The soap dispenser in men’s room needs replaced. There are some pieces of sheetrock setting in the hall leading to restroom area. The salad bar (which wasn’t in use at the time was bit of an eyesore)

We will definitely be back.

One of the best steaks I have had! Okra and corn nuggets was also very good!

Great food and very friendly staff. I dinged them on the service because they were short-staffed and I had to wait quite a while to get seated and also had to wait a while for the food to come out. Treated my 10 month old puppy to a dinner of beef brisket and a sweet potato. He was in doggy heaven. The cod was excellent once I got it and my server was a gem!

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised here. Based on our experience the rating should be at least 4 stars. Everything we ordered was delicious – the pulled pork nachos, the brisket, chicken tenders and was nice and hot when we got it. Our waitress was really nice. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

Super empty when we came tonight!! Our server (idk her name but she had these cool earbud things) was so kind and welcoming. Burgers were wonderful, mac n cheese, chicken fingers etc.. entire party was happy! We didn’t realize we got here like 30 kins before closing and we felt so bad since we’re traveling back to GA. 10/10 would stop here again on our way to gatlinburg

So much to improve upon. 1st, get a new short-staffed sign for the front door (obviously not fresh) or get some staff. That’s been an issue too long. 2nd, if you close at 9, why are customers being turned away at 8:40? If you’re open, you’re open. 3rd, learn how to stock for a busy day, so you’re not out of 6+ menu items by 8 PM. 4th, don’t leave your 5-day new hire to be the face of the business, without proper training (but, TY for hiring her). Poor girl was clueless. It’s not enough to have hard-working employees, as so many reviews described. They have to be efficient, so they can be smart-working. They also need to know how to greet n seat, what foods you’re out of, which salad dressings you have, and so much more.

Wanted brisket, but had to go with the pulled pork. The taste was meh, and it was sitting in a large amount of liquid in a bowl. I ate half of it and couldn’t push through the rest. The fries had zero seasoning (not even salt). The fried pickles and okra were good, but obviously not made in-house. Potato salad was good, the coleslaw also meh.

While we’re eating, I overheard a customer saying all their food was cold and not good, and they wanted to only pay for the drinks.

Overall, you had your shot. I’m not coming back. Until management/ownership does their job, I’ll eat elsewhere. I suggest others do the same. So much potential, but you gotta do better, even for us tourists.

I was excited to learn that this restaurant had been reopened by new owners. The restaurant appeared to be clean and freshly painted. The workers were friendly. However, I was disappointed in other ways.I hope they will accept this review as constructive criticism. I’d love to see them succeed. I wish them all the best. But, my experience was less satisfying than I’d hoped.

I ordered the pulled pork platter with green beans and potato salad. The pulled pork tasted good, especially with the addition of their mild bbq sauce. However, I was disappointed to find a few lumps of fat in my pulled pork.
The green beans were canned and unseasoned. The potato salad tasted like cut-up red skin potatoes covered in mayonnaise, not very tasty.

Another person at my table ordered chicken tenders. They looked as though they’d been refried once or twice.
A third person at our table ordered ribs. He said the texture was good, but he didn’t care for the rub that was used.

I hope Jim-Bob’s will accept this feedback as helpful and strive to never stop improving.

We stopped by on a whim. We remember the other restaurant that used to be in this location and were curious about the new one. We are glad we stopped! Our food was delicious! It was served hot and the service was fast and friendly. Serious about making sure we were happy. Don’t drive by. Stop in. Support local businesses and get to know the people of Townsend.

Juicy half chicken & ribs. Cowboy beans were really good with the peppers. Salad bar was not setup as of 07.24.2025.

The staff was wonderful and very accommodating even though they are short staffed right now – Food seemed really good just baby back ribs were slightly dry & brisket was definitely good with the sweet BBQ sauce. Only thing I would say is the pricing for this area was slightly more than should be after our travels across Townsend to NC Mountains for the last 24 years.
