If you’re anywhere near Bloomington, do yourself a favor and stop by Jiffy Treat. This place is the definition of a hometown gem! I ordered the Chocolate Lovers Sundae, and it was exactly what the name promises — pure chocolate heaven. It’s layered perfectly with rich ice cream, thick fudge, and just the right amount of whipped cream and toppings to make every bite better than the last.
You can tell they actually care about what they serve here — everything tastes fresh, and the staff are super friendly and fast, even when the place is packed. It’s got that nostalgic small-town ice cream shop vibe that just makes you feel good the second you pull up.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth (or even if you don’t), the Chocolate Lovers Sundae is a must. Hands down one of the best ice cream stops in Bloomington!

The young gal and guy working in store today were awesome, so friendly and welcoming! Owners should absolutely be proud of them for ability to showcase their knowledge of products and did so with a passion for ensuring customers enjoyed. They both represented so well!

My husband has been going to this ice cream shop ever since he was a little boy with his parents. We are so glad we were able to stop by as a treat after dinner after 30+ years. As someone who is dairy-free, I do appreciate that there are options for me. They have vanilla, chocolate, and a twist of both, which is what I ordered. My husband and mother-in-law ordered the pumpkin ice cream with chocolate fudge on the side. My dairy-free ice cream had just enough sweetness for me and it was creamy and held a nice consistency. It was my first time here and staff was nice and friendly. It also was not busy when we went, which made getting in and out of there easy. I highly recommend if you’re looking for ice cream in Bloomington! Especially, even just for a “jiffy.”

This location is splendid. There were only two or maybe three workers working and they did a good job of collecting orders and preparing food and of course ice cream.
I took my son here and he requested free ice ice cream with sprinkles . I ordered myself a cup of chocolate and dairy free vanilla in my wife got some fancy order lol
My son killed his and then he was like I want more. I gave him mine and he rejected it. He requested to have my wife’s ice cream and I told him he would have to take it up with her.
Apparently, he really liked it.

This was my first time at this location. We went around 9pm on a Friday in Feb. Looks cute, easy to get to and park. I walked in and the 2 girls working the front had a look of disgust and annoyance. Definitely not pleasing to talk to, ask questions, or understand what the ice cream shop offered. There was no hi, what can I get you, how are you, nothing. I politely said with a smile, I’ve never been here before, so I don’t know what I want. They just sat there and stared at me. They didn’t explain the flavors or if they were homemade or what a cyclone was or anything. So I saw the cup sizes sitting on the counter and chose a german chocolate cyclone. The actual flavor itself was delicious. Chocolate with coconut, caramel and pecans. It did melt pretty fast. My husband was coming into the building still and I said just a moment, he’ll order something and pay for them both. She was annoyed and confused. I let the girl behind me order first. Then my husband got a cyclone too. When he asked what was the size of the small cup and the price, they rudely pointed to the cups on the side counter. We went back to the car and ate our icecream, as I didn’t want to sit on the metal chairs inside. It was good flavor, but I won’t be back due to the rude employees.

Ice cream is great, but being unable to customize the cyclones is a damper. At all of the local ice cream shops you can get blizzards/cyclones/flurries and add whatever you want. So I’m not sure why they don’t allow it. I wanted to add Reese’s to my cyclone and they wouldn’t allow it unless I swapped out another mix-in. What’s the point in having all of these mix ins if I can’t customize it and add what I want? So what if there is an extra charge? Put a little less ice cream and allow more mix ins.

On my way home from kayaking at Lake Monroe on 4th of July, I stopped by this place for the first time, and ordered a small size cup. Then I realized it’s too small and asked for a medium one. They gave me a medium size cup but only charged me for the small size. Super nice and amicable!! Guys come enjoy the ice cream and their hospitality!!!!!!!!!

My favorite ice cream place in town. Despite some reviews mentioning issues with the service, I didn’t encounter any problems. The young staff were perhaps not as sharp (for lack of a better word) as some might expect but I think they deserve a bit of leniency. My experiences here have been positive and any minor service hiccups are overshadowed by the quality of the ice cream
