As self proclaimed Texas style bbq aficionados, we’ve gone out of our way to try a healthy number of bbq joints while working in the greater Indianapolis area. Jibs has represented itself at the high level we’ve come to expect from Central Texas style bbq. In fact owner/operator Jesse Hutton had just returned from Texas where he sources his post oak and hickory. The brisket and ribs were both tender and smoky. The spicy sauce was homemade with great flavor and an excellent kick. If you get the chance, stop on by and see Jesse and Cindy Hutton for a delicious/friendly experience.

We ordered brisket, pulled pork, ribs, Mac and cheese, baked beans, green beans, and potato salad. They gave us a sample or their greens while waiting for our to go order. Fantastic food! I cannot complain about anything I ate, and I tried everything we ordered. We will definitely be ordering here again. Their BBQ sauce is the perfect flavor. They were sweet enough to give a little tour of the restaurant to us.

This is the home of the best BBQ in Johnson County. It is equal to Hanks in Indianapolis and both places are what I consider to be Indiana’s best. Great sides and sauces too. It’s like a Memphis style BBQ with Carolina style slaw and Mississippi style greens. Potato salad and beans are good too. Call to make sure they are open before driving any serious distance.

What an amazing early dinner we had. We got the pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. We also got their mac and cheese, cole slaw, and greens. Everything was incredible! I haven’t had homemade greens in years and they lived up to my expectations. I highly recommend Jibs BBQ to anyone! Very VERY yummy!

Best bbq I’ve had in my 7 months of traveling for work. This is as close to a taste of Texas you can get. Ordered brisket sandwich, ribs, baked beans, Mac n cheese, and potato salad. None disappointed, great eating. Both regular and hot bbq sauces were delicious. I’m satisfied with my visit at Jibs, and will be revisiting soon.

Best BBQ in Johnson County. Generous portions. Friendly, family owned and operated. If you haven’t tried it yet, why not!? Walk in to order, carry out to take home, eat at the park a block away or take advantage of their outdoor seating. Easy parking in back of the building. Thanks Jessi and family!! Arrived kind of late, after 7 PM. Out of brisket and chicken.
I had ribs, friend had rib tips. Excellent flavor, aroma, and very good tenderness.
Collard greens might have been the best I ever had. Great mac and cheese. Open F/S sometimes Sunday only.

We ordered two dinners to take out of brisket, baked beans and green beans.
The portions were more of a sample size than a meal size. Both types of beans were obviously out of a can with little flavor and watery consistency.
They said the brisket was running low, so they mixed in pulled pork. Both meats were pulverized to the point they would have been better used in sandwiches. I suppose when we agreed to mixing in pork with dried up brisket, we should have thought better and maybe just left. So, we can only suggest calling ahead to see if they have the type of meat you want available. Don’t just accept this kind of substitution. The prices are too high for second best.

“Deeeeeee-licious!!” That is how my 2nd grader describes his experience with Jibs…and we (his parents) couldn’t agree more! Between the three of us, we had the pleasure of experiencing pulled pork, ribs, greens, mac n cheese, and coleslaw. Everything was perfection! They serve their coleslaw Carolina style (vinegar slaw) and if you have never had it, this one is the one to show you how it is done right. The meats were tender, flavorful, and could be devoured as is, but then you would miss out on their amazing homemade BBQ sauces. Whether you like it mild or with a kick, you will know from the first taste this is the real deal.
And the delicious food isn’t all you will find at Jibs. Owners Jesse and Cindy are warm and welcoming, eager to give you a smile and a handshake while serving their food made with obvious care and love. The level of hospitality at their cozy shop will make you feel you have just been made part of the family. We look forward to taking advantage of their outdoor seating area in warmer weather on our next visit. Hopefully that will be very soon!

Super delicious BBQ!! My partner and I got the rib tip dinner and pulled pork dinner. You get a lot of food and the prices are reasonable! Plus the owners were very pleasant and nice to talk to 🙂 we’ll definitely be back!
