Had lunch here and was very happy. The Mongolian beef was tender and flavorful. The soup was nice and hot. Tameca gave great service. I felt it was decent value. I would come here again.

I got the braised beef, the flavor was good but the beef was inedible! Too tough I literally couldn’t tear a piece off no matter how hard I tried. I also ordered the sesame chicken and it came out as orange chicken and I was told they are all the same. The noodles was really good but the rest I was disappointed. However my server was great and the only reason why I enjoyed my experience of being there.

Visited the location within Ponce City Market. The menu seems appetizing to me so I gave it a try. The service was fine, my waiter was attentive. The food came out within a decent time frame of 20-25 minute wait. I have had many of the foods I’ve ordered at other restaurants before. The food was not authentic to me. The chicken dumplings were well presented, but the flavor was not there in the chicken. It just seemed that a boiled chicken was stuffed into the dumpling; the soy sauce is what elevated the taste. The sesame chicken was not fresh. You can tell it was just additional sauces added to the meat because the meat was a little bit hard to chew. The fried rice tasted great. I wish there were actual vegetables on the fried rice, but the options were either steam rice or fried rice..

I thought I’ve written a review for this place before. But seeing none, here’s mine. This is our go-to restaurant when we need a quick, tasty bite that’s not too pricey. We always get the same thing / start with the flash fried green beans (yumm!) I get the shrimp fried rice. My husband gets the spicy beef & tofu dish that’s served in a big bowl and comes with rice. It’s always tasty. If you get the green beans, I do recommend not making it to go as they’re not nearly as good leftover.

We love eatting authentic Asian cuisine and were excited to try this place out. We ordered xian long bao, 2 orders of fried rice and wonton soup. Rice tasted old, bland and very dry. Added soy sauce, but sadly it didn’t help the taste. Dumplings were thick and rubbery, tasted old and had an odd taste. Soup wasn’t terrible, but the wontons were rubbery with strange taste.
The waiter was not attentive, but at times lurked by the kitchen door and watched as we tried to eat. We were unable to finish the meal because it was so bad. Tried getting the attention from the waiter and the hostess, but finally had to go ask for the check. They didn’t even seem concerned about our experience. We will not be returning.

Never fails me! This is my go to for late night or dinner: fish hunan or beef short rib with noodles. The employees make this place even better.

Jia isn’t the best option in my mind, but it’s definitely not a bad one. It’s usually the first place I think of when I’m not sure what I want to eat.
It’s not fully traditional, but it’s not Americanized either. For me, it’s a good choice when I’m craving Sichuan food but still want something comfortable and balanced.
What really sets Jia apart is the overall experience of eating and drinking there. It’s not just about food pairing, but how the entire meal works together with what you’re drinking. Whether it’s wine, brandy, or whiskey, a lot of these combinations are things I don’t really see elsewhere.
In a food hall full of concepts and systems, this might be the most human place here. It has its own personality, its own imperfections, and it reminds me that there are real people cooking the food — not machines.

We walked by and it smelled divine.

I ordered an assortment of hot and cold items for the table, including the tangy wood ear mushrooms, the savory Dan Dan noodles, the pork pepper, and some Ma Po tofu. Everything was delicious.

We also did the dumplings of the day in the pan fried style as suggested by our server. They were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It was a mix of pork and shrimp. There was a side of vinegar on the plate. I wish there was vinegar at the table and maybe some chili oil, but overall very tasty.

The selection of drinks was pretty good and each cocktail was thoughtfully made.

The restaurant was cozy and nicely decorated. It would be a cute date spot especially when you are craving Szechuan. They warned us that things were spicy but I didn’t find anything overly spicy. ️

A huge benefit is that we didn’t have to wait long to be seated on a Friday night and parking was easy.

After we left we were able to easily walk to dessert and drinks at the surrounding stalls.

Lunch special for 15 dollars (18 after tax and tip) and came with roughly five pieces of basic general tsos chicken and white rice. And a spring roll which went from freezer to fryer. The host told me to wait 15 minutes and i was seated right next to him. I assumed he would bring me my food but no, i went up after 20 minutes and apparently it had been ready for a while. Excited for this place to shut down and a good restaurant to take its place.
