This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. I ordered a side of coleslaw, a side of meatballs, and a pepperoni pizza. The slaw was OK, but mass produced and not house made. The meatballs were decent, most and tender. The pizza struggled. The crust was undercooked and very soggy. There was a lot of cheese and it simply didn’t allow the sauce to be noticed. There was plenty of pepperoni. It was quite great. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 7.2.

Delicious! We had our young granddaughter with us. It was our first time visiting this restaurant. They gave her a coloring book and colored pencils. The food was very good and served promptly. We saw several people coming and going. A busy place. The staff gave our granddaughter a bag of chips for later as we left. They were very friendly and I highly recommend

Great food. Been going here my whole life. They have some of the best pizza in the Griswold/Jewett city, Plainfield, voluntown area! And it’s perfect almost every time. The only time it’s not perfect is if I try something new that I’m not sure I would like, which is my own fault, not theirs! Highly recommend! Also their grinders/subs, are just as good. Puts other pizza places sandwiches nearby, the 3 towns & burrows to shame! Also the owners are very nice and amazing people. There’s a reason they have been around and owned by the same people since 1982. Generations of good food! And generations of their family to thank for it and, generations of my friends and family that have also enjoyed their food!

I’m a big fan of smaller diners and pubs and this has that exact feel. Smaller place with amazing people that greet you like you’re one of the family. From the second I stepped in until the second I left, even while being alone and just doing laundry next door (convenient am I right?) I felt like I was at home. If you ever find yourself in Jewett City, this is a go to spot

So I’m a KY boy who loves good pizza as much as the next man. I also run 5 restaurants, so when I touched down in CT I immediately drove to Frank Pepe’s. Yeah, it was good. Very good even, but my girlfriend, who is from Jewett City mind you, smiles and says “Oh babe, just you wait.” This was my favorite pizza in CT…hands freakin’ down. She ordered her family’s favorite, hamburger and bacon….YUM! Take a look at that pic. That ain’t bacon pieces, no that’s what seemed to have been a pound of bacon strips! The inside was cozy and something out of a movie, at least to this guy. The folks running the place are a trip, but friendly and inviting. I’m 850 miles away, but I will be back!

Food was awful. Spent over $90 and not one item was good. Got a BLT grinder that had no mayo on it even though we made sure to mention we wanted it. It seemed like they put the entire grinder in the oven to toast it. The lettuce was wilted and grose.

Such a wonderful experience! This was our first experience visiting Jewett City Pizza Palace in well over 40 years. We were not disappointed! The owner, Effie, was kind, warm and treated us as if we were family. Her husband was busy cooking, but took time to greet us and made sure our food was to our liking. Together this husband and wife team assured us a pleasant and very tasty experience!!

WAS a life long customer until whoever they have now answering the phone and takes the orders has screwed up every order we have placed in the last month or so, Not to mention the prices have gone through the roof. I understand inflation but this is ridiculous, I just paid $32 for a euro without fries and a cheeseburger club and they sent me a cold cheeseburger instead of a club… Horrible customer service will never go there again..

Started going here as a child! Love the food !! Tonight we were refused dine in service there was 5 people stand around doing nothing and they didn’t close for another hour and five minutes!! Did realize these small local companies were making so much money they could refuse business
