I had great expectations about this place, as Google mentions it’s owned by a celebrity chef.
The seating is plain chairs and benches, not even a serviette was served, had to ask for it. Food presentation was good, description too, however the taste was more than disappointing at least of so-called home-made cashew halloumi- I had to ask where exactly halloumi was, or what they called that – tasted rather revolting. I thought, out of that portion I could each at least pumpkin, but it was so unripe that was not edible.
However, I believe the Eisbein balls were not bad according to my partner, this not giving it 1 star.
The view is beautiful, so as on any other wine farm, but they could’ve made a little effort to make it a bit more upscale.
Lastly, the restaurant closes at 15:00, by 14:50 they take last orders, which also doesn’t make any sense when the farm works until 17:00.

Astonishingly exquisite vegan food. Absolutely the best vegan food in terms of imagination and presentation we’ve had in South Africa, and in most parts of the world to be fair.

Excellent restaurant that produces interesting and original dishes. The kiddies menu is creative and offers the children a great experience. The chef even changed the menu to cater for our lactose intolerant grandson. I loved the roasted vegetables and panisse! Really beautiful food!

I think a hidden restaurant at Spice Route. If you looking for fine dining then this is the place.
Starts were delicious I had the spiced prawns which was delicious. The wonton chicken was also delicious but the prawns was better.
For mains I had the fish with shrimp mash and a delicious sauce drizzled over the plate. A small portion so advise any main please order a side. The pork belly was good but not filling.
The board was nice and generous for an extra R50 you can add some fresh bread. Wine selections are great.
Service was good and view was amazing.
I think if I really want to splurge then I would come again but not in a rush.

Another excellent experience for us at Jewells. Neil and Tina have been cooking and serving beautiful food and great hospitality for well over twenty years. Every picture tells a story and Jewells was packed with happy people on Sunday. As ever the welcome was warm and the service came with a very special human touch. Neil and the team’s food once again was delicious, every dish, every mouthful. Thank you.

Jewells Restaurant offers a stunning view over the Paarl-Franschhoek Valley, perfectly complemented by its minimalist decor. The food is incredible, and the service is top-notch. We enjoyed a charcuterie board with delectable meats, especially the standout chakalaka sausage and bresoala. The burgers with fermented lettuce were juicy and delicious, while the potato risotto with Gruyère was absolutely mouthwatering. The chicken tagine was an explosion of flavors. It’s clear that the chef is passionate about the food served, making the dining experience truly exceptional. Highly recommended!

My steak had a lot of almost uncooked fat on it which was inedible, and the sides we ordered weren’t anything to rave about. I had the most incredible meal today. I ate everything my plate. It was the best meal I’ve had in ages. This is by far my most favorite restaurant now and I’ll definitely be back . The flavors, the service, the ambience- 10 out of 10!
