We had such an amazing experience at Jewel of India in University Village! The service was excellent—the staff and owner are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The ambience is cozy and pleasant, perfect for a relaxed meal.

But the real highlight is the food—absolutely out of this world! Every dish tasted authentic, like it was straight from India. The flavors were rich, perfectly spiced, and truly satisfying. To top it off, they surprised us with complimentary halwa and mango custard, which made the experience even more special.

If you’re looking for authentic Indian food in Seattle with wonderful service, this is the place. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be coming back!

Wow, talk about an absolutely beautiful restaurant with great food and the friendliest staff!

I had visited Washington to come see my friend and wanted some late night Indian food to take back to the apartment. I was in luck as this place closes at 11pm! Not only was the staff welcoming but they reassured me that I had plenty of time to spend with the menu and offered me a place to sit and a glass of water even though I was ordering delivery. My saviors with the water!

I’m not sure what the space looks like during the day, but at night you get to see all of their decorations and lights turned on with such a moody atmosphere. If there was someplace that I’d want to be taken on a date, it’d be here! With a candle-lit type vibe and yummy foods with some kick to their flavors, this was THE spot. It was on the pricier side and I didn’t get as much food for takeout but because they were so kind and I don’t eat much anyways, I really enjoyed every bit of the experience even as a delivery customer!

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now and haven’t been disappointed by anything I’ve tried. Every curry dish is excellent, so creamy and flavorful.
The staff is wonderful, they always welcome you in with big smiles and will always check that you’re enjoying your meal. Easily the best Indian restaurant in the U-District.

Food was decent, had nice selection.
We ordered Veg noodles – 9/10 ( good spruce taste)
Chat papadi- 5/10 ( had bland taste and not well made )
Veg thali – Koftas were amazing and Daal felt home cooked
Non-Veg thalis – Chicken curry was decent not the best.
Deserets were very disappointing- gulab jamun was so bad and so was Kulfi – very poor quality
Mango lassi was 7/10
Serving sizes were small compared to the pricing.
Staff was very welcoming and friendly.

First walking in, by the decor I knew the food was to be good. Open til 11pm, the staff is very kind; i ordered the vegan channa masala and they included a vegan baklava pastry. It was flaky, melt in your mouth sweet a 10/10 dessert. The chickpea curry came with rice also is amazing I recommend to get the medium spice level, with a side oder of naan. Thank you, I look forward to trying your other vegan dishes.

We enjoyed an outstanding lunch with chai and two lunch specials. Everything was excellent – especially the samosas, the naan, the tamarind and mint sauce, and the vegetarian dishes. The service and ambience is very good.

The owners were super friendly when I arrived. I got take out, but I am certain that dine in would have great service. I got the chicken tikka masala, and oh. my. god. I have never had chicken that tender before. The curry had a strong tomato flavor and amazing texture. The naan was great, too. I would 100% recommend you check this place out – a gem on the ave!
