This is me and my boyfriend’s favorite restaurant to escape to. The food, service and atmosphere are exceptional. We sit at the beautiful bar and enjoy serene views of the Himalayan mountains while we sip always fresh crisp cocktails. We usually get a curry dish. I like the thali because it offers a variety of tastings. We’ve gone over a dozen times and we always leave happy. We’ve now taken a liking to visiting the tea shop next door for medicinal herbs, tea, honey and sound bowls. We love this place and cannot wait to visit again.

I had the privilege of dining here quite a few times and there isn’t a bad dish on their menu. Aside from the exceptional food, the restaurant itself is a beauty and the service is exceptional. The owner is kind, passionate and attentive and I promise, you won’t be disappointed if you eat here. The tea room next store is also quite lovely and makes for the perfect post-meal experience too.

A few nights ago, I ordered dinner for two from this restaurant via Instacart/Uber. Our favorite Indian restaurant, Taj, in Fairfield, no longer delivers to our area. After seeing the 5-star reviews, I was impressed and hoped for the best. We ordered the same dishes we had gotten from Taj many times.
To say we’re disappointed is an understatement. “Dismayed” and “disgusted” would be more to the point. The order arrived 40 minutes late (Uber did give us a $15 credit). The food was not appealing, the portions were small (10 oz metal containers, not well packed or closed) and the “dessert” for $6.00 was three M&M-sized balls that arrived in a plastic container half the size of a paper bathroom cup.
My Chicken Korma was grainy, overly sweet, and had too much of a particular spice I couldn’t identify. The paneer, the other dish we ordered, was not great either. Neither was the rice. (See attached image of uneaten food.) The Naan was unexceptional. All of this led me to wonder: how did this lackluster food earn this place five stars?
In addition, the tasteless Chicken Korma did not sit well in my gut, to say the least. I don’t know if this was due to the delivery transit time being excessive or because the chicken was of not good quality and fresh to begin with, but it was a waste of $68.00—a way too high price to pay for this subpar culinary experience.
When I went back and finally read your 1-star reviews, I realized that I wasn’t the only one who had such a disappointing and costly experience. I want a refund, but I’m guessing that I’ll get an owner response sugar-coating our experience. (I’d like to see him or her eat the pretty dreadful food that was delivered to us.)

One of the best restaurant meals my friends and I have had together in a long time! We went there as a group to celebrate my birthday. Their tea is exquisite and their food is delicious. Their wait staff provided excellent service. The overall experience we had was truly memorable!

The food was almost perfect. The chicken korma was very flavorful, same with the tikka masala. The only thing that was not perfect at Jewel of the Himalaya was the naan. It was not as good as other restaurants naan, but it was still good. Servings were big enough for 2 people to share, but more rice could be given. The service was very good, and I never needed to ask to fill up my water. The atmosphere was also very nice, but the restaurant was a little small. Overall, very good.

To be perfectly honest on the front end, this type of food is not my usual go to, but my sister really wanted to try it and my friends raved about this place so I reluctantly agreed. Im glad I went. The service is on point. Very friendly and attentive. The food we ordered was excellent, fresh and full of flavor. The prices were reasonable considering all the above. I was really pleasantly surprised by the experience. If you are like me and not always willing to step outside your comfort zone… this one lands as a safe bet! Enjoy!

First time dining here last night after multiple ppl recommended it (and it’s so close to us, I can’t believe we’d never been) and what a great experience. Korma was delicious, naan was fresh, drinks were great too! The place was PACKED!!! Will def be dining here again.

This is a wonderful restaurant. Delicious food and great vibe. They also have a very nice bar which we enjoy on occasion. Next store, they operate an enchanting tea room that’s very worthwhile. Recommended!
