In 1978, Jet’s Pizza founder Eugene Jetts was about to buy a new home. But on the way there, his passion for pizza took over. Instead, he signed a lease on a space that would become the first Jet’s location. Along with his brother and partner John, they opened the doors to Jetts Party Shoppe & Pizzeria in Sterling Heights, MI. The pizza world would never be the same. They were about to make history by offering a truly, better pizza. And now, over 40 years later, we’re at the top of the list when it comes to crave and taste. Try an authentic Detroit-Style pizza today. Only at Jet’s.

Counter-serve chain offering Detroit-style pizza with flavored crusts, plus wings & subs.

What a difference a month makes. See the pizza in this photo? It was phenomenal. I’d found my new favorite.

Turns out, that only applies when they actually give it to me.

I tried to order last night… but after three hours, I never got my pizza.

Bear in mind, I previously ordered from this location once a week for seven straight months from December of 2024 to about June of 2025. And since I never tip less than $10-$12, I figured I’d be somewhat memorable. But I guess not.

When I placed my order online again last night. I put “Y’all are awesome. This pizza is amazing.” into the special instructions to give them a bit of a feel-good compliment. I also didn’t think I needed to actually use the block for special instructions because of how many times they have delivered to me previously.

I should mention here that although I used to put specific instructions when I ordered online, I didn’t always order online and never gave the special instructions over the phone. I should also mention that at least once, I got a lukewarm pizza because the driver completely ignored the instructions.

There are several exterior entry doors to my building, but all but four of those (one of which being the main entrance) are in the gated, residential parking area for which you need a code to enter.

When I ordered pizzas previously, I never put my apartment number because I always, always met the driver at the leasing office entrance. I guess I wrongly assumed that, despite the lack of special instructions, common sense and the lack of an apartment number would tell the driver, Jessika, to go to the main entrance. I mean… she’s clearly not a resident, so I couldn’t imagine her or anyone thinking they can get in those gates.

Also, common sense should point out that without an apartment number, there’s no reason to even attempt to enter the residents’ parking area because a driver would have no idea which of those exterior doors to use to reach an apartment… since there’s no apartment number specified on the order. What was she going to do? Go door to door knocking until she found me? Doubtful.

So I stood at the main entrance for an hour and a half. Finally, I gave up and went back to my apartment to check my phone. Sure enough, I got a text from Jessika indicating she was at the gate. To reach that gate, she had to drive past the leasing office parking lot.

So I called Jet’s and got told she’d just returned to the restaurant, having given up when she couldn’t reach me. Then I got a lecture about including special instructions… special instructions that shouldn’t be necessary if the driver uses the smallest bit of common sense. But as they say, common sense isn’t so common.

So back to the problem at hand. I was still hungry. So the lady on the phone said it would be another 45 minutes to an hour to remake my pizza and get it to me. That sucks, but it’s better than a cold pizza.

The lady on the phone pointed out that when it was ready, I should have my phone with me in case they needed to call me, because if they couldn’t find me, they’d have to bring my pizza back to the restaurant. But she said this *after* I specifically told her what entrance I would be waiting at (which she acknowledged). So off I went back to the main entrance… where I waited another hour and a half before giving up.

This time when I returned to my apartment to check my phone, there were no missed calls and no driver texts. There was just a text telling me my order was cancelled and my money refunded. So they never even made an attempt to retry getting me my pizza. They sent me back to my apartment building’s main entrance to wait for another hour and a half for nothing.

As someone who worked in pizza delivery all of one month as a teenager (and hated it), I am very understanding and can forgive a great many things. But lack of care and service isn’t among them.

Guess I won’t be ordering from Jet’s anymore. What a shame. Oh well, $58 for a pizza (including tip) is a bit ridiculous.

I have been here two times this week because it was close by my work location but I did not find any friendly staff on either visit. The staff are working in the kitchen and take their time wandering around to the counter to to either welcome or to take an order. Despite the poster advertisements there are no ready to serve pizza slices so you cannot drop in for a quick lunch. The thing that bothered me the most besides the lack of courteous staff is the pizza maker has a fluffy beard that he scratches and plays with at the cash register and then goes behind the counter and makes pizza with nothing preventing his beard hairs from falling into the food. The pizza was pretty good. But the serving and lack of sanitary food preparation was disgusting. I will find somewhere else

Apart from this everything was good.

I wanted to take a moment to give a huge shout-out to the team at Jet’s Pizza, especially to a cook named Mark. We ordered the Detroit-style deep dish with turbo crust, and it was perfectly made. The edges were caramelized and crispy, the crust was light and buttery, and the toppings were generous and flavorful.
I’m a frequent customer, and I’ve noticed that every time Mark is working, the pizza is consistently outstanding. It’s clear he takes a lot of pride in his work, and that attention to detail makes all the difference. It’s employees like Mark who ensure that the high quality Jet’s is known for is always delivered.
Excellent food, great service, and fantastic consistency. Keep up the great work!

Get the deep dish go home and air fry it. Then thank me.
Hawaiian with red sauce is 10/10, they’re generous with the meat and I always have extra pineapple to pick out of the box.
Way better than little papa dominos hut

I was absolutely blown away by how good this was. Saw something on instagram about how good Jet’s Detroit style is, so we finally checked it out. I think I have a new favorite take-out pizza place. One of the most impressive aspects is the bread – it’s very crispy, even after the car ride home, yet isn’t burned at all. The sauce also has a great flavor. Highly recommend the turbo crust, it’s amazing. We will definitely be coming back for more.

We moved from upstate NY a little over a year ago and have been trying to find a pizza shop like home. We have finally found it!!! We were both in heaven when we took our first bite. Finally someone that understands extra cheese and cup n char pepperoni and how to cook a pizza. Toppings were perfect. Pizza was cooked perfectly This will be the only pizza shop we will go to. Can’t say enough about how good the pizza is! Thank you for bringing back great pizza memories. Now if we could find a sub shop. lol!

My rating is for the takeout experience. Detroit style pizza was delicious. Will happily order again. Great textures. Nice they offer an individual size in the Detroit style. I recommend this for takeout or delivery. Clearly not designed for eating in, though there are a limited number of tables and chairs you can use in a pinch. Zero ambiance for sit down. Detroit style doesn’t cook fast, so plan accordingly.
