Jet Runway Cafe in Fort Lauderdale is an absolute gem that combines an unbeatable location with truly outstanding food, making it one of the most memorable dining experiences in South Florida.
Nestled right on the tarmac at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE), this upscale yet laid-back café offers prime runway views that feel like first-class aviation entertainment. You can sit by the large windows and watch private jets, small planes, and helicopters take off and land just feet away—it’s mesmerizing and unique. Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast or just someone who appreciates a cool backdrop, the constant action outside elevates every meal into something special. The atmosphere is bright, welcoming, and buzzing with energy from pilots, locals, and visitors alike, creating that perfect mix of excitement and relaxation.
The food here is genuinely amazing and far exceeds what you’d expect from an airport-adjacent spot. They serve breakfast and lunch all day, with generous portions and fresh, high-quality ingredients. Standouts include the Eggs Benedict with perfectly poached eggs and rich hollandaise, the crunchy brioche French toast coated in an almond-cornflake crust for that irresistible texture, and hearty options like the Breakfast Burrito loaded with scrambled eggs, black beans, cheddar jack cheese, and fresh salsa. Salads are fresh and flavorful too—the Salmon Louie or Crispy Goat Cheese Salad make for lighter yet satisfying choices. Everything arrives hot, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor, showing real care in the kitchen.
Service is friendly and efficient, even during busy times, and the overall vibe feels upscale without being stuffy. It’s no wonder this place draws crowds—it’s worth every minute of any wait. If you’re in Fort Lauderdale looking for a delicious meal with a one-of-a-kind view, Jet Runway Cafe is a must-visit. I can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely be back soon!

We had a wonderful breakfast at Jet Runway Cafe, it was our first time and it exceeded our expectations. The Crab Cake Hash was absolutely beautiful—perfectly prepared with generous lump crab, flavorful breakfast potatoes, peppers, onions, poached eggs, and a rich hollandaise sauce that tied all the great flavors together. It was a standout dish! The Triple Stack Pancakes were equally wonderful—fluffy buttermilk pancakes drizzled with warm maple syrup and whipped butter, and the portions were generous enough to fill us up. We left feeling satisfied and happy. The atmosphere is clean, bright, and inviting, with an open, welcoming vibe. What really makes this place special is the location right on the tarmac at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE)—watching private jets and aircraft arriving and departing while enjoying breakfast is such a unique and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend Jet Runway Cafe for a memorable breakfast outing. We’ll definitely be back!

So my girlfriend had seen this restaurant on Instagram and has been waiting for us to try it out. Today was the day; this place is tucked away in the commercial airport in ft Lauderdale. This is a brunch style restaurant so menu options are more geared towards breakfast favs balanced with well chosen lunch choices. I’m neither a breakfast person nor do I eat meat or poultry so I am not going to comment on options I don’t eat. I enjoyed the blackened Mahi burger with seasoned fries, it comes with an aoli but I don’t like mayo based dressing. The sandwich didn’t disappoint great portion sized cut of fish nice brioche bun toasted buttered lettuce and tomato with a pickle spear. Balanced flavor juicy fish. The presentation is cute. My girlfriend also ordered the fried bread pudding bites she said that they were pretty good. Service was great seamless, you have a team making sure you get everything you need. Let me talk about the amazing views of the airport runway. The only detractor is parking which can be limited when they are busy. The table next to me ordered salmon salad and shrimp salad which also looked delicious. Another table had chicken and waffles which also looked amazingly good. Overall a great spot for a brunch date with friends or as a couple.

Great restaurant to see small private charter planes depart and land while eating good food. A variety of options to choose from for breakfast and lunch. Good service and depending on the day, it could be a 30 min wait but it’s worth it. Very cool vibes and nice place to enjoy especially for a Sunday brunch. Kids enjoyed themselves and enjoyed seeing the planes take off.

Had lunch at the Jet Runway Cafe on December 21 and had a great experience. Ashley was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The burger was excellent—perfectly cooked and surprisingly tender (which I know sounds odd for a burger, but it’s true). The pancakes have a subtle vanilla flavor that really make them yummy as well.
I’m a semi-snowbird and had never been here before, but I can’t wait to come back. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, you’ll love the food and the view overlooking the runway.

Food was great! Selection was great! Stephen, our waiter was amazing! He gave great advise on best entrees! Food was fresh and swrvice was quick! They had a steady flow of patrons which is always a good sign! Vibe was good just a little loud. I did have to ask for my fried hard eggs to be remade though cause they were brown but I asked for not too hard/not brown. Parking was good and it was easy to find. Nice view of the private jets. We would definitely come back and bring out of town guests! Prices are good, as well! One big ding though…the women’s bathroom, while clean, had a drop of soap! Please replace soap timely!

Made a pit stop here as our flight was delayed, and luckily I was not disappointed. It’s Friday 1pm and we were sat immediately, party of 3, and greeted by our server almost immediately. She was absolutely wonderful! I asked her between chicken tenders or chicken tacos. She said the chicken tacos so I got them. Delightful at last. Would I return? Absolutely.

This restaurant has amazing food. We had the French toast, pancakes, eggs and several meats. The food came out quick, smoking hot, and fresh. When they give you a container for the leftovers it comes with extra syrup and a bag already, so you don’t need to ask. This small attention to detail caught my attention. It’s in a small space, but despite there being a long line, the wait wasn’t too bad. We highly recommend this restaurant.

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. We waited less than 40 minutes although it was very busy right before closing. Shelby was great! Very kind and consistently coming to check in on us. Everyone enjoyed their meal. There was no bad review on any of the food that we ordered. I would definitely come back to try something new. Also my kids loved watching the planes land and take off
