It had been a little while since we wandered in here so we felt it was time to have a revisit. Already knowing the food was good it didn’t feel like a gamble. But I regret to inform that the real gamble was on the time. When we got there there were 2 tables in process. A 2-top and a 6-seat. We figured this would be swift, but we were wrong. It had taken over an hour for the food to come. It was long enough that we began to wonder when we got there. There was a story from the waitstaff that a longtime cook did a no call no show.
The is all felt understandable until we began to notice tables that showed up after us getting their food before we were even informed of the issues stemming from the back. Upon one of my trips to the bathroom (yes I was there long enough to require multiple trips to the bathroom). I noticed the bar side had filled up with snowmobilers that were not there on my first trip immediately after ordering but were eating when I went back to the bathroom to try the “spawn the food” trick.
Overall this was a disappointing experience mostly because I know they can do better. The food is tasty, but it’s not worth it for me to spend almost 2 hours to get my food and eat it. I’m not saying I won’t go back, but I will take a serious consideration of other options before I pull into the parking lot.

So glad we stopped in here on our way home from Houghton…I think we found our future food stop! This place has incredible food, and the service is quick and friendly. Would highly recommend stopping in and getting the pretzel and bang bang chicken sandwich.

Second time eating here and we’re SO impressed. The food is excellent and very affordable. The service is phenomenal. The first time, we took my Dad who is in a wheelchair. It is VERY accessible. Today, we had a shellfish allergy to accommodate, and they went absolutely above and beyond! Very, very nice place. Thank you!

Came here for their Sunday filet. The saddle bar was absolutely amazing and the fillet was one of the best I’ve had. We’ve been coming here snowmobiling for last 6 years. You never had a bad meal great service great food great atmosphere!

So I’ve been here plenty of times and I’m surprised that I haven’t written a review yet ! Well like I mentioned I’ve been here plenty of times and always had an great experience !! Well tonight was no different ( we sat in the bar side) Erin the bartender was also our waitress and she provided excellent service!! Friendly, I was asking questions about the family feud game competition coming up and other things, answered our questions !!! So we definitely will be back !!!

Whitefish dinner was tasteless, the worst whitefish I’ve ever had in the UP. Sent it back and ordered Fish/Chips. Overcooked, tasted like old/rancid oil. Slaw was tasteless. Steamed broccoli was mush. Waitress was so pleasant, but chef who came to our table was rude/ arrogant. Never again. Get better fish at Culver’s!!

Hard to find any good places in the upper peninsula, but this is a solid place. They hold regular hours and have a large menu, which is unheard of for the area lol. Staff is nice, food is great. Pizzas are excellent, especially the supreme. I’ve had my fair share of pizza in my life. Prices are pretty typical for bar/restaurants these days.
Give it a shot. I almost let the negative reviews scare me off, but after dining I get the feeling that they’re locals who either don’t like the owners, or are friends of other restaurants/bars lol
