Edit: Went here again recently and I wasn’t asked if I wanted it Mike’s Way, they just made it like that without asking, not okay. I didn’t ask them to remake the sandwhich because I’m not a total douche but like it takes 5 seconds to ask. This location is really slacking.
However, when the hot sandwich was finished, I politely asked the employee with purple hair, who was handing me the sandwich, if I could add a few more toppings my mom wanted. Instead of simply clarifying the process, she snapped at me in a rude, loud tone, saying “ Mm okay, well our hot sandwiches don’t come up here but alright.” Her tone was condescending, and hostile. From that moment on, her behavior only escalated. She was blatantly disrespectful toward both me and my mom, laughing at me as I walked away, treating my mom with visible attitude, slamming on the napkin dispenser, and aggressively throwing the toppings onto my mom’s sandwich in a rough manner.
It was an unpleasant and uncomfortable experience because of this employee’s unprofessional conduct. Her behavior was uncalled for, unprofessional, and shocking.
I’ve come in multiple times asking for one simple thing: grill the Italian. I know it’s not a standard request, but it’s not hard — it’s sliced meat and bread. Every single time, they act like I’m asking for something outrageous. I’m always polite, always explicit: I want the meat hot, the cheese melted, the bread toasted.
Last visit, the employee said she’d grill it — and then handed me a cold sandwich anyway. I took one bite and brought it back, calmly explained what happened, and asked for it to be remade. Instead of fixing it, she gave me attitude. Her co-worker had to step in and say, “Just grill the sandwich. It’s not that serious.”
What she did next was absolutely disgusting:
She took the sandwich I had already bitten into, put the chewed lettuce on the shared cutting board, reheated the meat, and reassembled it using the same tools and prep surfaces used for other customers. I could not believe it. I have never in my life seen someone reassemble food on a their line that someone has already taken a bite out of! So unsanitary! I will absolutely be reporting you to any health code authority figure I can get ahold of. That is a major health code violation. Once food has been in someone’s mouth, it should never come near shared prep space again. She could’ve easily remade it. Instead, she chose to be petty and unsanitary.
Also — if you’re going to grill the sandwich, learn how to do it right. Stop stacking the meat on top of itself on the grill. It doesn’t heat evenly that way. Spread it out. Let it actually cook. I’ve seen staff mess this up every single time like it’s their first day.
If you can’t handle a simple request without attitude, and you’re cutting corners in ways that violate basic food safety, you shouldn’t be serving customers.
I was there at 11:30am yesterday. The 29th. The person that helped me was female in her early 20s and slender build. Caucasian too. Just trying to help you identify the perpetrator of such audacity.
