Everything has always been remarkably fresh, tasty and high quality. The selection is really good, and I have never been let down in the satisfaction/satiation department. Portion deliniations are well defined as, “mini,” “regular,” and “giant,” with appropriate pictures well displayed for what to expect. You can get white, wheat, rosemary parmesan and even gluten free Udi’s bread (for a little extra) as well as white or wheat wraps. You can also make it a bread-free bowl if you wish. Topping selection is great, from “Mike’s way” with lettuce, tomato, onions, vinegar, oil, oregano and sasl) or roll your own. Pick and choose between pepper relish, mustard, banana peppers, pepper, swiss and provolone cheeses, Jalapenos, pickles, mayo, extra meat, pepperoni… Basically, you get it your way if you ask,
On the the service:
They will hang on your every ask and make it your way and ask, “Is this ok?” at every step. They are friendly, timely and all about quality control, cleaning off the prep board for EVERY sandwich or bowl. They even change gloves as necessary between moving from sandwich prep to register. They even use separate knives and swap gloves, clean the board and lay down parchment paper for folks that have an order and are gluten sensitive. They don’t even seem bothered by any of th aforementioned glove/knife/cleaning effort, and I appreciate that.
Atmosphere:
I just love the crew. Most have come to know me by name and already know what I am going to get. That being said, I threw them a curve ball and ordered something different last night and Elijah and I just had to have a moment to express the “end of an era” for me… They are fun, chatty, upbeat (when they don’t have a customer who is a legit jerk, and I have witnessed levels of patience from the staff with those customers that I do not think I could pull off). When I do witness a customer being unhinged and they leave, the staff does not even reference, so they got their calm in place. I am envious.
In general, I go for the people, I go for the food, I go for the points, and I go for the assurance that I will always get a good sub from them. They even let me try small samples if I decide I am thinking about trying a different sub (Sorry, Eli, Mara’s fault, lol).
This is similar to my experience with the Jersey Mike’s on Hilton Head when I worked in that area. I would walk in, and 9/10 times, several people would shout=, “Phil! You getting your usual?”
The place is always spotless, the smells coming off the grill for the hot subs are just great. (Warning Eli, I might get a Philly one day 🙂 ). Love the place. I just wished they served Coke products, as Coke Zero is my thing.
Cannot fault the Rincon shop about the lack of Coke Zero… That’s a corporate decision. The brownies and cookies are always great add-ons, and never fail to deliver. Chip selection is excellent.
10/10 WILL (not would) revisit, and I highly recommend. If you frequent the place, get to know the staff member and their names, and don’t do a 20% tip, go higher, please. I always leave with a smile, and that’s a nice lift to the end of a stressful workday for me.
I knew when I saw them coming to rincon, just a quick hop from my residence, I was ruined… I am, but in a good way…
The main gentleman in the middle making the subs was super cheerful which from the start made the Jersey Mike’s experience much more pleasurable. We joked around and discussed the hidden menu subs. Hospitality goes a long way.
The food itself is the top notch, fresh quality that you come to expect from the Jersey Mike’s chain. We ordered 3 subs and they were all fantastic.
The only knock on this location is seating. There isn’t a whole lot of seating and only a single table for 4. The others are for 2.
