The staff here has been consistently kind and polite, despite the heavy lunch rushes and floods of online orders, the store as well, stays clean and well kept.
Today I walked in during a rush, was greeted with the same politeness as always, and was given my sandwich in a timely manner, with it looking and tasting as good as it usually does. Might I add I watched the employees very tactfully deal with some customers who were being quite rude, whilst still dealing with the large amount of orders.
This location has yet to disappoint me, and the employees here deserve kudos for their patience and service. (Pictured below is the banger sandwich I ordered)
Tonight, two employees were sitting at tables on their phones, and the employee behind the counter was also on hers. When I approached the counter for my takeout order, she simply stared at me as if I were interrupting something more important. I politely said hello and told her I was there for my order. She handed me the bag without a word. I wished her a nice evening, and again, no response. All three immediately returned to their phones.
This is a stark contrast to the Edgewater location, where I am consistently greeted and treated politely. Customer service matters, and I am willing to drive the extra distance to be treated with basic courtesy. It’s disappointing because the food itself has always been good.
I truly hope management addresses this issue. Greeting customers is a simple expectation, and the repeated lack of professionalism reflects poorly on leadership. Do better if you would like to keep your customers.
Edit: I chose not to disclose too much of my experience. However after reading other one star reviews..they mimic my experience. I was not greeted and other people were greeted. Very selective greetings.. additionally, I asked to purchase an “side” slice of the rosemary bread and they refused. Please note that I said purchase. Which I have done this at other locations before with no problem. The manager of the location claims simply “they do not do that”. I’m willingly asking you to charge me 5 to 6 dollars or whatever price for the bread I do not see the issue.. ring up a sandwich, drink, something. As somebody that is in both the service industry, owned restaurants, and food trucks This experience was highly disappointing. Will not return to this location.
However, the main issue was when she requested customizations to her meal. She was met with a stone wall, refusing to accommodate her wishes.
The reason given was that other locations might offer such services, but they didn’t. When she offered to pay for the changes she wanted, she was denied again. Frustrated, she asked for a manager, and he informed her that he was the manager and that they would no do what she wanted. She received her food and left highly unsatisfied. We won’t be visiting this location again !
