We’ve ordered from Jersey Mike’s many times in the past and have always found their subs to be pretty amazing. The bread is consistently fresh, and one of the things they pride themselves on—slicing the meat and cheese fresh for every sub—has always been a big selling point for us. When you’re paying $18.99 for a sub, it feels justified because historically they’ve been generously overstuffed, and you truly get what you pay for.

Unfortunately, tonight’s order was a big disappointment. While the meat and cheese were freshly sliced and the bread was soft and fresh, exactly what you want in a good deli sandwich….the sub itself was overwhelmingly filled with lettuce. To me, lettuce is a filler. That’s the very reason we avoid places like Subway, where you often need a microscope to find the meat and cheese unless you pay extra. What you see advertised on TV at Subway is rarely what you get in real life, and that’s not the experience we expect from Jersey Mike’s.

This time around, there was noticeably less meat and cheese than we’ve received in the past. I understand that rising costs are affecting everyone, and businesses have to make tough decisions. But cutting back on the quality or quantity, especially on a product that’s already close to $20 bucks, just doesn’t sit well. Padding a sub with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes may make it look “overstuffed,” but it’s not the same thing as a truly hearty sandwich.

If I’m going to spend almost $20 on a sub, I don’t want to feel like I paid for bread and lettuce with a hint of meat. Jersey Mike’s has set a high standard for itself over the years, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I really hope this was a one-off and not a new normal, because we’ve always chosen Jersey Mike’s specifically to avoid this kind of letdown.

My son picked Jersey Mike’s for lunch today (2/19) , I hadn’t been to this location since we are new to the area but the one near our old house didn’t have the friendliest staff. We walked in and there were 3 young men working, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least two of them were still in high school. My son likes to order himself, but it takes time and patience, so I immediately jumped to conclusions and assumed these young men were probably not going to be very patient with my son – I was so wrong! They were so patient and helpful in helping him get his order just right and they never made us feel rushed despite doing to-go orders at the same time. I just wanted to let them know thank you and they did a great job! The seating area was clean, it could have used a wipe down around the soda fountain, but it was busy lunch time and wasn’t terrible. They are doing a great job.

My dinner was fantastic! Me and my wife of 70 years came in the other day and had the sweetest young lady named Mackenzie assist us in our order! My wife said it was the best Big Kahuna Cheese Steak she’s ever had, and she knows a thing or two about Big Kahuna’s!

Nov 21, 2025. Had guests arriving around 11 AM. Ordered 3 subs from JM for pickup at 10:45. Sandwiches were ready on time. Opened the bag at home and found the rolls used were stale, there was no Jersey Mikes juice on the sandwiches. Very disappointed. We’ve been a customer at this shop for years and have always been satisfied. This order was terrible, as well as an embarrassment to offer to my guests.

No paper towels in the bathroom not sanitary for a public restroom. Sandwich maker put the lettuce on before the hot meat. The sandwich was still yummy but I felt it could have been better

Whole Lotta Nothing Going On.

It’s been about 3 years since I got a meal from JM’s, since the one opened in Amsterdam NY, and back then my findings were “overpriced, poor quality, and bad service”. A solid 2/5. But I’m willing to try again, and I think 3 years has been a long enough wait.

Sadly even the Clifton Park location failed in one respect, the readiness. I put my order in online, well before my pickup time, hours even, but I never have trouble with this kind of thing anywhere else. Went with a “Giant” Chicken Cheese Steak on the Rosemary Bread, coming to just under $20 before tip. Which if I could have taken it back, I would have, because, the service was not up to par.

I arrive at my selected time and walk in expecting my sub to be sitting on the counter, no dice. Then perhaps they are still working on it? Nada. So I ask the employee at the counter about my order, and I’m hit with the deer in the headlights stare. He looks down at the receipts next to the online ordering register, finds mine, and asks his buddy cleaning the grill about it. Turns out they forgot about my order, despite having hours to be ready, despite being emptier than a banker’s heart, they failed.

7 minutes later I had my sub, fresh as can be, which is pretty fast for someone who were to walk in and order their meal. But not for someone who put the order in online. Darn shame, they stumbled right at the start.

That said, back home, the sub was pretty yummy. The bread was puffy and light, the fillings were savory and meaty, and the flavor was rich but not too much. The Rosemary topping was very messy though, falling off with every bite I took, but the included sub wrapper was able to catch all of that. Don’t know if I’d say the “giant” moniker was really worth the $19, it was just slightly larger than a footlong, and I polished off the entire thing in under 15 minutes.

So while JM’s didn’t win any awards for their attentiveness, at least the sub was good. Overall, 4 out of 5.

Ordered 3 subs for take out, not one of them was made properly. Little things, like adding tomatoes when we said no tomatoes, mixing no breads, etc. Annoying.
