I went to this Jersey Mike’s today hoping to treat myself after already having a rough day, but unfortunately the experience made things worse.
When I walked into the store, it was completely empty. Two employees were behind the counter, yet I stood there for about 4–5 minutes before either of them acknowledged me or asked if I was ready to order. During that time, they were talking amongst themselves.
When I was finally helped, the employee assisting me continued having a conversation with her coworker and openly complaining about the job. While I understand everyone has tough days, that kind of conversation should not be happening in front of a customer especially when no one else is in the restaurant.
As I was placing my order, she walked away from the counter twice in the middle of me speaking and continued her conversation with her coworker. I ordered a BLT Mike’s Way with additional toppings. I stayed patient and didn’t say anything, assuming the sandwich would be made correctly.
My boyfriend came in from the restaurant next door looking for me. The reason we had gone to separate places was because my sandwich didn’t require cooking and should have been quick, while his order was expected to take longer. However, because I wasn’t acknowledged right away and the employees continued talking among themselves, my order took much longer than it should have.
After paying and sitting down, I took a bite and realized several of the toppings I asked for were missing. My boyfriend went up to the counter to ask for the missing toppings on the side. One of the employees responded by asking, “Well, what did she order?” which was confusing and unnecessary, since toppings were clearly missing regardless.
The employee who made my sandwich said it was a BLT and stated “ I made it exactly how she wanted it.” When my boyfriend explained that it was supposed to be Mike’s Way, she repeatedly said, “She didn’t ask for it Mike’s Way,” multiple times, even after he clarified that I did.
Her tone and attitude during this interaction were rude and dismissive, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. I did order it Mike’s Way, but I believe she simply didn’t hear me because she was distracted, walked away while I was ordering, and was engaged in conversation.
At that point, we only asked for onions and vinegar on the side, as requesting all of the missing toppings felt excessive. By then, the experience had completely ruined my appetite. Between being ignored, overhearing complaints, having my order made incorrectly, being repeatedly told I didn’t order it properly, and the rude attitude throughout the interaction, the situation was extremely frustrating.
I usually enjoy Jersey Mike’s, which is why this experience stood out so negatively. I hope management can address customer service, attentiveness, and professionalism so this doesn’t happen to someone else.

We went for our “Big Game” sandwiches and I was interested in trying something new, so I asked about #64, the Grilled Portabella Mushroom & Swiss. I was wondering about the size of the mushrooms. The guy behind the counter was so very nice!!! He actually went to get the mushrooms and show them to me. They were sliced, but he said that they could chop them smaller if I’d like. He was so genuinely friendly and helpful! And since the mushrooms looked delicious, I decided to try the sandwich. I wasn’t disappointed. The Grilled Portabella Mushroom & Swiss sandwich was excellent! Thank you!

I rarely go to Jersey Mike’s. The subs are always good, but this time was the most fun I’ve ever had. Unfamiliar with the menu it took me a little while to order. Also, I am extremely particular on how the sandwich was to be made. I split a giant #43 (philly-chipotle) with one other person. After all that back and forth, the crew did not miss one step, they were EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING, and worked together, like a WELL OILED MACHINE. I can guess who the manager, or most senior employee was, but no one was wearing name tags so I just figured I’d call everyone MIKE lol
I’ve worked in restaurants for years and to see everybody work together with so much much unity, I would have to say it’s got to be a good work environment. It radiated out to me as the customer that they were having a good time and really took pride in their work. I’m gonna post pictures of our sandwiches, we may have piled on too many toppings to produce good photos, but don’t be fooled it was a 100% delicious! Food temperatures were perfect. #crisp #clean #fresh #friendly

I had a coupon for a free regular sub, thanks to T-Mobile Tuesday so we finally decided to redeem it for a philly cheesesteak. Hubby and both had the Big Kahuna Cheesesteak. He added a note to his to add chipotle mayo, and they did. I was a little surprised because usually, these notes in the notes section go ignored. The sandwich was good but it was much better with the chipotle mayo. I wasn’t expecting much but I was pretty impressed by this philly and shocked at how much I enjoyed it. It was better than most pizza places that serve phillies, where the meat is dry and the bread is hard or chewy. This philly was legit, even for a chain.
I still haven’t found my go-to philly spot since moving to the area but I actually think Jersey Mike’s might be a good contender.

This place blew away my expectations in so many ways. From placing the pickup order, to how I was treated inside, to the meal itself….everything was perfect. Justice and his staff run the place exceptionally well and go out of their way to make sure the customer has the best experience. And trust me I did. The cheesesteak I order was fresh, hooked up to the point it makes the cheesesteaks you see on television look skimpy, and absolutely delicious. You could see that Justice and team make each sandwich with love. I highly recommend!

Jersey Mike’s on Route 17 North in East Rutherford has just about everything one would find in a Jersey Mike’s; good food well prepared, attention given to cooking, friendly service, and a quiet atmosphere. I had the Philly cheese steak, and found it very tasty, with just the right amount of toppings and enough both cheese and steak to taste. It was a pleasant experience to say the least.
