This is a small-town place suffering from something of an identity crisis. Do they serve standard 1970’s era steakhouse American food or are they a Chinese restaurant? The answer is yes to both.
I was curious…I had to ask…here’s what I learned. About 5 years ago they hired a cook who used to work at a Chinese restaurant in “the city” and wanted to add some of those dishes to the menu. They did.
I had the sweet & sour shrimp because it struck a chord when I spotted it on the menu. It came with a choice of egg drop or hot & sour soup plus a choice of egg roll or crab rangoon. I took the waitress’ recommendation and went with the hot & sour plus the crab rangoon. The soup arrived first and was served in a glass beer mug. Unusual presentation but when in Centralia, eat Chinese food the way the locals do. The soup was surprisingly hot (temperature) and had more of a kick to it than any other hot & sour soup I can remember being served. It was good but caught me by surprise. I set it aside to cool for a couple of minutes and my entree showed up so I never got back to it. Shame.
My entree was surprisingly good. Lots of places go way overboard on the breading for sweet & sour dishes but their cook “from the city” got it right with this dish. I liked the tenderness of the shrimp combined with the crispiness of the breading such that they never got all the way to soggy from sitting in the sauce. The sauce was pretty typical as were the vegetables, fried rice and crab rangoon.
All in all, I would eat there again when I’m in town.
Footnote: I was there on Halloween and they had a big bowl of candy on the hostess stand that I mugged on the way out. Bonus!

This is truly a small town hidden gem!! The building is older and the lighting is dim, just to note if you rate those things. It can get loud inside due to the amount of people enjoying but the experience is always wonderful. The ladies and gentlemen here are really the star of the show, always smiling and making it look so easy. If you leave Jerry’s hungry I’d be your own fault. Over the top fantastic service with generous servings. Love this place and the folks that make it so special!

Just had an absolutely fantastic experience at Jerry’s Bar and Grill in Centralia! It’s clear why this family-owned spot is a local favorite. From the moment we walked in, we were met with incredibly fast and friendly service. Our food arrived hot and fresh in less than 15 minutes of us getting there, which was amazing. I highly recommend trying the grilled chicken off their menu – it was truly excellent! We’ll definitely be back soon.

We’ve seen all the hype around these iconic cheesecakes and decided to order the German chocolate cheesecake. It exceeded our expectations and was an absolute hit! The flavor was phenomenal, and the customer service from start to finish was outstanding. We will definitely be back to place future orders!

My husband and I stopped here for dinner on July 18, 2025. It was so good! I had their version of a long island drink. It was strong, but tasty. I also had the fried chicken with green beans and a house salad. It also came with chicken Tortellini soup and dinner rolls. Husband had the chopped steak, green beans and a baked potato. All was very good, seasoned well and big portions! The waitress’ were fast and very friendly. We would definitely eat here again! They also had several different cheesecakes and I had heard their pies are awesome, but they were out of pie. We did share a slice of the lemon and blueberry cheesecake…very good…had whipped cream on top.

Traveling for work & nothing really “sounded good.” Jerry’s came up top on the search for near by resturants. I also don’t usually prder chicken strips… the strips were nothing fancy(not hand breaded) but for a togo meal was FANTASTIC, everything hot, thoughtfully packed(soup wrapped to not spill; also delicious) Between the soup, salad, baked potato, chicken strips & roll, wow … definitely leftovers! Again, it was delicious, but chicken strips would not be my choice next visit… convinced if this simple meal was good… it only gets better! Pics attached. Thank you!

It’s been a few months since I’ve dined in at Jerry’s. I’m happy I returned because it was a great lunch experience. We had great service from the waitresses, and quality food. I got the half pound cheese burger, with steak fries. I was completely satisfied with our service, and meal.

The service was great, as was the food. My husband had the fried mushrooms, and they were very good. Large portion, even for his big appetite. He also had a great big cheese burger, and he did well to eat it all. He said it was so good that he refused to leave any on his plate. I had the fried breaded pork tenderloin, and it was also very good. It was very flavorful without being too salty. Super crunchy breading, just like I like, too. I added an order of steak fries and a sweet tea. Great meal. The waitress suggested the cheesecake, but I was too full from such large portions. I’ll try it next time, or maybe even get it to go. This place is a bit on the pricey side, but well worthwhile. I can see why this is such a popular place to eat. Plan on going back as soon as it fits into our budget.
