First time here. Received a warm greeting upon entry. The young lady explained my options and took my order. I order grilled salmon, 6 wing dinner and 1/2 chicken dinner. Both chicken dinner included 2 sides in addition to the beans and rice. My wait was very long but perhaps it was bcuz the 1/2 chicken was fresh cooked, as well the the salmon. My wings did not find fresh cooked and were actually overcooked. I will give them another shot bcuz the salmon and 1/2 chicken were cooked perfectly. Sides we got were yams, cabbage, green beans and macnchz. Green beans and cabbage seasoned well, cabbage was softer than I’d like but that’s subjective. Mac is not baked, kinda like a stovetop with extra seasoning. Beans and rice were good as well. Despite wings being over cooked they had a decent flavor. Next time I’d specify to ensure my wings are not overcooked. The piece was good for the food we got. The wait was like an hour so to get dry wings was a disappointment.

Unfortunately, I am rating this place a three star. I placed the online order and came in about 20 minutes after I placed the online order when I walked in the place was not busy. I had to wait about 10 -15minutes or so while inside because my order was not ready I got to my car just to taste the food out and my sides were like lukewarm and my chicken was two different temperatures and not cooked from today. as I had already waited long enough for my order. I did not want to go back in to wait additional time. unfortunately that tells me the food was not fresh!!

If you are looking for delicious food go to Jerk Sou’lay located at 8216 S Kedzie in Chicago. Their food is authentic, outstanding, and full of flavor. The customer service is amazing. The atmosphere is family friendly, and the prices are on point! They have full menu, but I love the CABBAGE and DARK JERK CHICKEN meal. On a good day I have been able to sample their specialties like peach cobbler eggs rolls and non-acholic drinks. Follow them on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok to see testimonies from real customers. Five stars hands down! Btw, I catered part of my Thanksgiving meal from them! The family loved it!

Im a rican from the west side. Deff making this trip again! I am Caribbean so this was especially good, but even then this food (and anglo-caribbean) in general has a flavor so unique. Honestly, one of my favs in the city. This is the dark meat, rice, mac and cheese, cabage, beff patty and plantain!

Take out only restaurant and I was not disappointed. They do offer a few benches outside if you want to sit down to eat after you order your to go food. The young lady was nice who took my order. They offer different flavor lemonades. I had to add water to mine because it was too sweet but tart at the same time. I had I ordered the turkey tip and jerk chicken combo. Also had the jerk salmon with spaghetti. Now my daughter said her food was good. I didn’t personally taste her. My combo came with fries and the flavor on both meats didn’t miss. I will say the chicken was a bit dry. Besides that my only complaint is I was told 30 mins on the salmon and that turned into 50 mins.

Best place in Chicago to get jerk!! I travel about 25 minutes to come to Jerk Soule, past several other jerk spots, and it never disappoints. The portion sizes are healthy! Literally I cannot finish it all in one setting. This time around I got 2 half jerk dark dinners with mac and cabbage, 6 piece jerk wings with yams and cabbage, strawberry pound cake and peach cobbler. I’m in a food coma now lol. It’s so tasty and fresh and the service is always friendly and timely! First pic is of a full serving, 2nd pic is halfway done going in the fridge for later! The food here is delicious.

I have to give a huge SHOUTOUT!! To this place. The whole thing is a vibe. The food is great, chicken tender, ox tails fall off the bone with a plastic fork. I’m not a catfish eater but, that jerk cat! Ohhhhhhh wheeeee! The greens and cabbage was on point with the right amount of flavor. The rice and beans weren’t dry and had a lot of flavor. Then to finish it off I had that (hood flavor) red kool-aid if you know what that means. Then the sweet treat was a wonderful moist vanilla pound cake that you must get. I’ll be back for sure.

I always enjoy the food here but last night I was disappointed because I ordered a Jerk Shrimp Bowl, I usually get the Jerk Chicken Bowl, but I was feeling shrimp. The shrimp last night was extremely overcooked, I couldn’t finish it, I picked out the shrimp and threw it away and just ate the rice. My mother said it was overcooked. So the next time I order this I hope it will more appealing and edible. Thank You.

You can’t go wrong with Jerk Soul’Lay. Excellent service and great food. The curry chicken is my favorite and it’s Other jerk places on the southside start off good but the quality falls off after awhile. Not the case here. Check em out
