Reviews
The menu also has plenty of great Thai dishes to try, and everything is cooked with bold, authentic flavors. It can get quite busy, especially at night, but the food is absolutely worth the wait. A must-visit spot if you’re exploring the Banthat Thong food street!
We waited about two hours, but the online queue system makes it easy to book ahead and explore the neighborhood while you wait. If I had to stand in line for two hours in front of the shop, I’d probably be disappointed expecting the best tom yum of my life.
The shrimp omelette was amazing – I’d definitely consider ordering it for takeout when I’m in the area again.
The star of the meal was the Tom Yum Mama. It was the bomb! Bold, rich, and intensely flavorful, it genuinely changed the way I think about Tom Yum, in the best possible way. Deeply comforting yet exciting, it’s unlike any Tom Yum I’ve had before. If you’re not into very spicy food, be sure to ask the staff to make it less spicy.
The crispy pork belly was also very good. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and a great complement to the noodles.
Despite the long wait, we did not regret waiting for our table. Jeh O delivers on flavor and experience, and it’s a must-try if you’re serious about Bangkok street food.
Food came out fast, and everything was clean.
The Tom Yum with minced meat pork meatballs were delicious! Very zesty, full of flavour, spicy but not too spicy. I’m sure you can get Tom Yum for much cheaper in Bangkok, however I do feel Jeh O Chula adds an extra touch with their toppings and all the side dishes were really good too, so it’s definitely worth the money and your time!
All the dishes are really amazing. This place is well known for the Tom Yum and Salmon Salad, definitely a must-try Wonton is also amazing, really crispy and with a nice filling. I also tried another dish like pork jowl and it was still tasty.
They don’t accept cards, only Thai QR codes and cash, so make sure to prepare in advance.
Use the QueQ app (recommended for faster process)
Or come directly to the restaurant.
We used the app and only waited about 10 minutes in front of the restaurant.
What we ordered:
1. Roasted Pork – 4/5 Good, but tastes similar to what you find at the night market.
2. Mama Noodle (Roasted Pork & Seafood) – 4/5 This is the specialty here. Toppings are generous (prawn, squid). Noodles are too thin for my taste. If you can eat spicy, go for it! Otherwise, the sourness dominates.
3. Salmon Salad – 4/5 Good, but again similar to night market quality.
Tip: For roasted pork and salmon, the night market is better value – same quality, cheaper price, and bigger portion.
Signature Mama Noodle – We’ve got the one with mixed toppings. Crispy pork, crabs, pork balls, shrimp, squid etc. topping were all fresh but the noodle and the soup is just your typical instant spicy mama noodles. I really don’t understand the hype at all.
Dumplings – good and juicy. Don’t know what they were made of.
The waiting – we went on a Wednesday. we did the queue through QueQ app. We had to wait about 2 hours. Took the queue around 7 and we got seated around 8:30 pm. We just went and ate around the Banthatong street while we wait, so it wasn’t so bad. The queue was still long until the time we left the area at 10:30.
The total bill – 1400 THB.
The menu – there were so many items on the menu but Mama Noodle, salmon salad and crispy pork seem to be the most popular. The menu’s all in Thai. No English menu available.
If anyone sees this review in time, the shop is gonna close from 27 Nov to 2 Dec 2025.
The restaurant specializes in street food snacks, tom yum, and seafood dishes. I ordered the Mama tom yum noodles with seafood, spicy garlic fried tofu, stir-fried morning glory, and wontons. Overall, the food was good, though I expected a bit more from the tom yum noodles.
Despite that, the experience was enjoyable. Just be sure to allow extra time if you want to avoid long queues.
