I traveled in from Tri-Cities TN to Murfreesboro to visit my Mom. I had the pleasure of taking my Mom to lunch at Jeff’s today (her choice). WOW…the food was amazing and I can’t wait to come back for another visit. If I could give it more than a 5 star rating I would.

I live in Spring Hill & was in the area to run an errand. Was so happy to find Jeff’s bc I was in the mood for some good ol country cooking & the reviews sold me. Placed my order online for pick up, it was ready in a “Jeffy” Very nice folks & the lady behind the counter was so sweet. We talked about her niece who had moved to Spring Hill recently. I would eat here every day just for the people alone, good for the soul. I got my to go order & headed home. I had planned on eating the plate for my dinner tonight, so I left it bagged & just stuck it in my fridge when I got home. Opened the box at dinner time & was disappointed to see that I didn’t get my hot water bread . I’ve never had hot water bread & I was excited to try it. Once I dug into my chicken, Mac & pintos though my disappointment disappeared! The food was everything I had hoped for & more! Delicious to the last bite & I ate EVERY LAST BITE! Thank you for the best dinner I’ve had in quite some time! I will definitely be visiting the nice folks at Jeff’s anytime I’m in the area! Next time I hope I get to try the bread! Also had a slice of the strawberry cake bc another review had mentioned how good it was. I was hoping for a from scratch cake, but honestly it tasted like box cake & store bought icing, which to me taste very artificial. My next visit I’ll give the pie or banana pudding a try.

The food was really good, my pie was to die for! The staff was friendly, the atmosphere needs some updating but that’s the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

Took family to Jeff’s because there is no place like it at home. Fried chicken, fried fish, and smothered pork steak were our entree choices. All very good and good sized portions. Love the cornbread choices. Can’t get them anywhere else!

Went here after seeing this spot on the news for the chess pie. The chess pie is worth every bite as you see in the picture. However I also ordered the banana pudding, peach cobbler, meatloaf, green beans, macaroni and sweet potatoes. The desserts were ok, the dinner items need work. Didn’t really have that make me come for the food stay for desserts taste But, I’ll keep buying the pie!

My ribs were good, but my girlfriends cajun catfish was fried PERFECTLY and DELICIOUS, super crunchy outside, soft, flaky middle, beautiful color. That’s what I’m going to get next time

Indiana folks here. This is a hidden gem! Traveling from Georgia to Kansas we wanted to stop and grab some real southern cooked food – no chains. Jeff’s was the perfect stop. As soon as you walk in it is buffet type style. You get your tray, silverware, and choose your course. They starve you behind glass as you make the hard decision on what sides you must get. Fried chicken, cornbread, mac and cheese, and don’t forget your dessert and sweet tea! We had banana pudding – sadly they had JUST sold out of their peach cobbler. The chicken meat is juicy and holds flavor. The breading/skin has a nice crips which is not too heavy. What I loved was it wasn’t overly salted or peppered, the flavor was great. I am not sure what cheese they used, but that was NOT velveeta, AMEN. Excellent texture and flavor as well. The cornbread patty was unique; it was not something we have had before. Would I have it again, absolutely. Let’s talk sweet tea – the south LOVES their Sweet tea, emphasis on sweet. Be prepared for that sugar to hit. My daughter loves it, but a bit sweet for me. That’s my taste buds though. Banana cream pudding, yes sir!! Fresh bananas, and wafers that were NOT soggy. I don’t know that I can say enough about this place. If you want authentic southern food and GOOD food. Take a tiny detour from 24 and eat here!

First time checking this place out and it was really good. Cost is consistent with other meat and three restaurants, everything was fresh and the staff was extremely friendly. Not a huge dessert person but the strawberry cake is incredible. The owner (Jeff) spent a few minutes talking to us and is very personable.

My sister and I road-tripped from NOLA up to Nashville and Jeff’s place is hands down one of the better places we ate at. Delicious and bountiful ‘meat and two’ and extra-friendly service to boot. Everything looked so appetising that it was hard to narrow down the choices but my turkey with dressing, hash brown casserole and fried okra were on point. The ‘carb’ bits of flapjack and hot water bread were new to me and were excellent. One can really ‘taste the love’ put into the cooking here.

We stumbled across this fantastic restaurant during a roadtrip to Nashville. The food was both delicious and abundant – we had smothered pork and turkey with dressing, and both were extremely tender and flavorful. The yeast rolls were light and fluffy, and the sides (lima beans, turnip greens, hash brown casserole, and fried okra) tasted really fresh. Definitely do not sleep on the chess pie. It was delicious. You can taste the love and care that goes into this food; the staff were really warm and kind. I see why they call it “soul food” – it warms the soul.
