Absolutely epic ✨ a “don’t-miss” hit in the San Mateo downtown! Incredible food, service, quality – my boyfriend took me here to show me where his family came and loved – and it all makes sense why this place is so special, combined with the killer food and 50s nostalgic vibes, recipe for unstoppable success! My man got the cheeseburger and I went with a BLT, all super fresh- and the milkshakes (one is basically two as they bring the rest to your table and fill not only your shake there but even bring you enough to take back home for a snack later!) we got strawberry and coffee. Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday and liked the old diner feeling.

Ordered an avocado burger with French fries. The burger was nice and thick. It came with onions, lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayonnaise. I really enjoyed the burger. I’d come back again.

The French fries were meaty. Very tasty .

One of the best burger shops in the Bay with many locations. They have reasonable prices, not to mention their delicious milkshakes which are big enough to share as they fill up two containers. Their bacon burger and pineapple teriyaki burger are my favorites.

The diner-like interior has booth seating and a good corner window seat. They have back patio seating and the restroom is oddly located through the kitchen.

The staff are friendly and service is quick!

Honestly just a great retro-style diner. Parking can get tough around dinner time, but there’s always the garage. The food is always fresh and the portions are classically gigantic. They give you the extra milkshake cup, and I love their shakes with a passion! The food can be a bit greasy, but I think that’s how it should be

Very good old fashioned burger. None of that brioche stuff, class white bun. I ordered the mushroom burger, with everything on it, added pickles, jalapeños, ketchup, and Swiss cheese. I also added fries on the side with their special aji sauce. The burger was massive! It was packed with toppings, the patty was done medium and was very thick. The mushrooms were amazing and overflowing from the burger. This was delicious and rated 8.5/10 for me! The fries were crispy and the sauce was interesting. I would come here again.

The food is really good overall. The shake was average. It reasonably priced since it’s ~6 for each of the items I got which is good for the area that we are in. The burger was average. The garlic fries were pretty tasty and crispy with them being fresh. The wait wasn’t bad for a weekday lunch.

I’ve been eating here for years. I moved away and was craving the tuna melt. It’s one of my favorite sandwiches to order. I was happy to see that they were still busy and the food is still good. My husband had a cheeseburger, and that was delicious, too.

I like this place. I was able to get a simple burger that fit my dietary requirements but tasted really good. They do country homemade style gluten free buns and they ask you how you like your burger cooked – I went medium rare which was perfect. I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries which were not overly salty like they often are elsewhere. The decor is like a clean version of the stereotypical American diner and the staff were very pleasant. The prices were reasonable for San Mateo. I’ll be back soon.

First time eating here: has become my go-to place for a meal! I’m often in the area to watch a movie with my friends, so having this place be so close to the theatre makes it a great place to stop by for a bite!

Order your burger at the counter and after it is delivered to your table, take it to the topping bar to load it however you like. The fries are nicely crispy with a slight crunch. I like the relative simplicity and slightly lower price than a full sit down burger restaurant. Service is quick and efficient. The bathroom is through the kitchen area which is odd.
