The wait is long but it’s worth it I ordered a BLT, and I had them add an over hard egg, such a delicious sandwich.. My son got the veggie Skillet and it came with several other items as a side so he chose to get a pancake .. My fries could have been a little bit crispier..
The wait staff was amazing..
The bacon on The BLT was amazing so nice and crispy

My father-in-law insisted we check this place out 2 1/2 years ago when we had first moved to town. We loved the food and experience so much that it’s become a family institution. We don’t go often because we have a bunch of kids and it can be hard to find enough seats for a big group, but when we do, it’s always a great experience. The kids love the pancakes and we’ve tried at least a dozen other things on the menu–nothing has ever disappointed. So fun to sit at the counter and watch the cooks and interact with the servers. The staff are always SO kind and accommodating, even when we come with the whole fam and it’s busy! This is the only breakfast place you need to know about in South Bend.

Went looking for a local breakfast stop and this place is great! Was my first time trying and the food, service and atmosphere is great! Just be aware that they only have 2-3 table tops, the rest of seating is bar stool. You will close to other patrons that come in for a bite to eat. Overall, a great place to stop in for breakfast! Will be back again if visiting South Bend/ mishawaka area!

Easy 5 star review. Great food, the service was quick and wholesome, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Being able sit at a booth and watch your food being made is an awesome experience. The building really has some character.

Instant favorite on the first visit, and they have yet to disappoint. The biscuits and gravy get my southern stamp of approval, hash browns are always cooked perfectly, specials are creative, delicious, and a great deal. Friendly service and good music (not too loud!) cap off a great breakfast/brunch experience at Jeannie’s House!

We stopped by before our road trip, and it was a great decision. The restaurant offered comforting food in a well-maintained setting. Both the food we got, spinach omelette and countryside steak if I remember correctly, were beautifully presented—clean, cute, and delicious!

Drove in the Snow from my side of town to get here and it’s 1:25. They decided to close early because it’s snowing outside as if we don’t live in the Mid-west. A little snow shouldn’t shut a business down. There was someone still inside eating. Roads aren’t bad, it’s normal snow, literally. So to be turned away for that was a little irritating after my drive. Oh, not to mention, I did call to make sure they weren’t gonna close. Just be prepared, even if you do call, they still may close early if it’s snowing. So I drove down to Allie’s Cafe and they didn’t disappoint!!

I was in town and found this place thanks to Yelp and Google. It’s a local, family diner. It has some booths and a large counter. Service was prompt and friendly. We both ordered omelettes. Waitress offered homemade jam – strawberry rhubarb, peach or blueberry. That was so good to add to my homemade biscuit. Omelette and potatoes were also very good. Numerous coffee refills. I even bought some homemade cookies for $1 each to take with me. Highly recommended!
