walking in, the decor is awesome .. had high hopes .
greeted happily and found us a seat ..
waitress was prompt professional and friendly.. took our drink order ( water tea with lemon) No lemons today
was going to order the lunch special at 12:00 ( but it was unavailable ) so we opted for:
chicken/rib combo with green bean and cole slaws ( i’m not a smoke chicken guy because almost no once can smoke chicken and keep it moist ) this was no difference .
Wife
chicken was dry and lacking seasoning for my taste. Ribs ? tender but flavorless .. I hate to have to dip ribs in bbq sauce 🙁
green beans good !
cole slaw bland !
i’m sure someone likes all of this, but it’s not my favorite and hard to compare to Texas BBQ ( West Texas )
Mine
Ribs and Brisket
You know how the ribs were, Brisket was edible if dipped in sauce, again a bit dry and flavorless for my taste
Bake Beans good
Loaded Potato Salad good
I wish they quiz have served a roll
or bread with the meal ( advertising on the big screens showed a good looking roll but I guess it’s not included )
Also wish they would have included pickles and onions or a jalapeño .. but no luck
Just a bit disappointed in our food, but again, it’s just my taste .. don’t be shy to give it a try I think the chop beef sandwich would probably be good !
( Redbird BBQ in Groves, Texas has us spoiled !
The food was somewhat hit or miss. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and felt it to be out of this world. The pork was rich and tender and melted in my mouth. The buns were overloaded and I couldn’t keep all the pork on the sandwich but I certainly wasn’t complaining. My wife ordered the BBQ chicken and unfortunately didn’t have as good of an experience. The chicken was a good portion but was overcooked and was dried out as a result. The skin was too crispy (almost burned) to be enjoyable. And the green beans just didn’t cut it (no pun intended). The banana pudding she ordered for dessert, however, was fantastic.
That said, I enjoyed the place overall and would definitely come back.
The Winchester memorabilia is amazing. It was one of the best collections I have ever seen.
It is well worth stopping in. This is 5 stars all the way.
Do yourself a favor and stop in.

So first I would like to ask, how did a rib/brisket meal go up $3 and brisket nachos go up $7 making both meals $18 each? And the half order of nachos only went up $3? We felt as if we truly got the short end of the stick here, as the pricing did not make any sense. Also the cashier was well aware of the menu not being updated on the website claiming “they really need to update the menu, because we were not the first to bring this up.” Regardless we paid the bill and headed home.
The food:
First off before I started to dig in I was scared to bite into the brisket and bite into a chunk of gold for what we just paid. But no gold I’m fine.
The brisket was delicious, tender, and the best part of the meal.
The ribs were dry and mediocre.
The mac and beans were good.
The chips and queso in the nachos were the ordinary Sams Club nacho pack you get for a birthday party. Also for the price increase you would think they would not be so greedy with the toppings.
Horrible experience, nasty secret pricing that they ARE aware of. Not coming back.
& etc.
2025 – Good bbq brisket & ribs, green beans and tater salad. Great waitress!!! She took a great picture of us young people at our class of 1969 class meeting.
The sampler has brisket, chicken, sausage, pulled pork, ribs, and two sides.
The dining area is fairly large with big and smaller tables- no booths. There is bar seating. They accept to go orders.
Staff is friendly and attentive. They want you to have a good experience. The owner is usually there and has spoke with us on multiple occasions.
Their brisket nachos can be ordered as a full or half order. They also have ribs, pulled pork, chicken, sausage and daily specials.
